The only reason that i have not gotten an LM is I guess I am afraid of a bass being too heavy.. I could spec Light Ash though...... My LGs and my KBP4 and KBP5 are real light Alder bodies..
From my experience I find i get more or better mid punch from lighter woods where the heavier bodies seem to have a larger low end... And i like the low mid punch..
mmm an RA.. I just never thought getting one.. But again My old and original LG in LPB was similar to it... I got it with a RW FB and later Jimmy made a Blocked and Bound Maple neck for it... I sold it a year later.. Big mistake.... It was the one of the best basses that i have ever gigged with... Would love to get it back one day...

After Jimmy Renecked it. And first LG5 with the Vintage Tone control.. Test bed bass for the newer bridge and output jack was in a different location than current.. .I hated the old location since it would MAKE you use a stand if you left the jack in while gigging....... I dont use a stand.....

love that bass yohan! @Kirk I've already gotten several requests to track over old things I've done as well as tracks done by other bassists with my KBP5....and this is over vintage Fenders! And I can't believe you don't already own at least 2 LMs haha....what about an RA5? Are you not a fan? I feel like RAs get very little love in this thread what's the deal?

@Kirk: If Jimmy has any of the 1 piece Ash bodies left you could get one of those for lighter weight... My trans white LM is 9.5 lbs which I think is the lightest they've weighed in a while... Unless he's got a new stock in. But then again, it sounds like an RA might do you just fine if mid punch is what you're looking for.

And regarding the location of the input jack on your old bass... I would love to have mine there. I tried to request Jimmy to do it that way but with the new rear cavity design that is right where the battery sits.

Yeah you know .. you may be right... I would also like a trans white like yours.. And it looks great on stages too...

The old jack location was a pain to me only because I NEVER use a stand on a local gig.. I don't want to carry one more piece or gear into a gig, no matter what ..
And the old location, even when i use a 90 degree angle jack would make the bass lean to one side.. Making it easier to tip over... And in the decades I have never lost a bass to tipping of falling unless it was on a stand... So I dont use stands..
Just me....

Hi Jason..

I was going to take the "Poudah" bass the Sonic Blue one.. and tune down to C# like for the session the other day.. But if I lost that bass I would die.. Its just too good.. You know ..

Jason, you picked that Neck for me!! and Thank you !! You nailed it!!
So it will be the Black 5 string... It can be replaced if the worst ever happened..

I am talking with jimmy about having the Black kbp5 refinend to perhaps Lake Placid Blue by the professor.. We will have to see....

Hey Kirk ... Which bass/basses are you taking to Europe?
