+1 I think I saw this neck in Jimmy's shop a few months back when I was in Cali and it looked gorgeous in person!

That two tone binding is BEAUTIFUL !!!! With a slight art deco vibe!!! Thats a one of a kind keeper!

Thanks guys. This neck was at the shop. It was actually slated for my upcoming custom order LM5. While waiting for the custom to be done, I bought an LM5 off ebay to hold me over. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the neck. Jimmy gave me the double bound neck and is going to make me a different one for my custom.

Customer service doesn't get any better than that.

I love my LG's and this LM is blowing me away now in the same way. These AC's are top of heap J basses for sure. I can't believe I resisted as long as I did before picking buy first one up!

So now I'm waiting on my custom order LM5 -- and trolling for a KBP5 at the same time... :hiding:

I really can't tell a difference with the bigger bodies. Love the necks, may lower strings just a lil bit.
So far, I'm favoring the LG, I'm a rosewood guy. But man, if u are looking for that Marcus slap tone, the LM has it all day. I'm not the best slapper, but I can hear that tone coming through.

No problem Mitch. We will meet up next time.

My new custom LM5 will be one piece ash, maple neck, black blocks and binding, and CAOJ finish.

Sounds absolutely killer! Great playing!

Whenever I listen to LM clips I have to point out how remarkably consistent these basses are in tone. Even when you have different people playing them, different recording setups, amps, etc. That bass sounds exactly like my LM5. When Ken and I compared our LM5s back to back, they sounded exactly the same, even though there were model differences (one piece neck, weight, etc.) Other YouTube clips I've seen? All LMs have that same tone. Obviously it's a classic 70's jazz tone, but there's a specific type of grind and bounce to the notes that is specific to the LMs and every one I've heard has it.
