Sounds absolutely killer! Great playing!

Whenever I listen to LM clips I have to point out how remarkably consistent these basses are in tone. Even when you have different people playing them, different recording setups, amps, etc. That bass sounds exactly like my LM5. When Ken and I compared our LM5s back to back, they sounded exactly the same, even though there were model differences (one piece neck, weight, etc.) Other YouTube clips I've seen? All LMs have that same tone. Obviously it's a classic 70's jazz tone, but there's a specific type of grind and bounce to the notes that is specific to the LMs and every one I've heard has it.

And it's always amazing how great they sound even with the most basic recording equipment/methods.

Thanks playa's! Yeah, I love the way these basses sound. I'm big on consistency and I always get what I'm looking for with the AC's.

Put some DR HiBeams in the LM. They made it that more enjoyable to play. I had the MM's on there, but they are too stiff for me now. The tone is about the same, but less stress on the hands.

Try black diamond nickels they're incredible on my LM

Hey Guys, so I started taking lessons (upright) again from a local guy named Gunnar Biggs. He was telling me about his electric, and to my surprise he is playing a AC! Looks more like a Sadowsky instead of an AC though, check it out. Apparently he has had it for quite some time, and picked it up used. I forget what pickups are in it. Anybody know the history on this bass?

Sean, I believe that is a bass Jimmy built when he lived in Texas. I remember seeing it on a bass gear dealer's website, I think the place was in Arizona, some years ago. Predates the New York Guitar & Bass Boutique. Consider it an early piece.

Wow, that is a Sadowsky clone if I've ever seen one.

That body looks very similar to the first few prototypes that Roger made. I saw one for sale at the Low End. The lower horn is very distinct.

It was the late 90s.. It was only guitars though. . With maybe ONE bass form acquired parts as experiment.
He started making basses after i busted his balllzzzz relentlessly to build a bass... And i do mean relentlessly,,

Jason "BiggReddBass" got the first one after Jimmy moved back to NYC.. It was a Dakota Red Jazz 4 that Jason strung up B-E-A D for a while..
It was lightweight and Killer.

The above bass may be that one off in the late 90s... If it is the bass that Im thinking about. I would have My Old EMG pickups that I had from another bass that i had given to Jimmy...

They look like EMGs, but they aren't. I think they might be Armstrong. I'll check it out again next week. Wonder where he got the parts, do you think he made them himself?

Yeah, they look like Kent Armstrongs from the picture. Nice looking bass.

We did a weekend tour in Yucatan, Mx this weekend and i snapped a shot of my setup.
The phone app i used to edit makes my LG more yellow but its definately getting there. You can also see how my forearm and thumb placement have worn thru the finish. Whoever said LIGHT coat of paint and nitro werent kidding! Lol but i dig it 100%!!

If that was made in Texas.. It would then be before he got his tools in NYC , where he started making his own bodies and necks...
If i remember, he did make one or two basses in Texas... And it would not have been his current headstock.... His current headstock is about 3rd generation.. My original alleva sig model KBP4 was first generation, made in NYC... John Taylor and i got ours the same week... This is second Gen and is longer and thinner with Hipsot Ultra lights... and the neck profile is a copy of my 63 jazz.

I think he should do a Reissue one day
