You're making me want the Brazilian F (Dalbergia Negra). I wish I knew how much impact on tone the Brazilian has versus Indian Rosewood. I hope it's small because my pocket book is not really able to pop for the Braz Rosewood.

Mikebass' is not negra. I wouldn't worry about going with Indian, that is also what I picked.
Thanks Sean. I'm betting you're right too. FWIW, I've seen some wonderful Indian Rosewood. I'm it's all good. Now I just need to decide whether to pop for FB binding. I love the look on the Candy Orange bass. Besides, Bernie and I are trying have twin LG-5's. (although I think I'll still go with the Hipshot bridge and Bernie is opting for the AC Bent plate bridge) But who knows what decision I'll arrive at when the time comes in August?
Does anyone know how much the "Phat" bass in a box, the stomp box pre is? It's not listed on his site anywhere.
And while on the subject of the preamp stompbox, I just have to say something about Jimmy's Customer Service.
I've had his preamp box for about a month and a half and in that time I loved it. One day I go to use it and it will only work in bypass mode. OK I change the battery and nothing. Call Jimmy, he says send it back. Anyway he calls me today and says I am building you a new one! I told him he didn't have too, but he insisted on doing it. So what could I do, I ordered a set of his 4 string jazz bass pickups
NOW!!! that is great customer service and Jimmy is a great guy to deal with!!!
If I was playing full time again, I know just from that conversation alone I would have been ordering a new bass from him!

My guess is that you'll be happy with either board. If you decide against the binding, maybe you could spring for the Brazilian board. Decisions, decisions. Congrats on the order!! I'm excited for you.

For some reason, I thought the binding was more. Sorry about that. Well, either way, you guys are going to have seriously smoking basses.
I thought the Brazilian was more than that? maybe I should ask ...while I sell a kidney. LOL
Maybe I should get one for those times I want to pump up the bass on the KPB-5 I ordered?
Any thoughts? Am I crazy (well yes, but only in a clinical sense - I think)?
