Club Alleva-Coppolo (Part 21)

FYI...That Plum Crazy color will get you more TV time than the others in your band!!!

oh that's for sure! I used to have that neon green RA5 with the black blocks and I got tons of camera time on the OAR tour I did a few years ago.

I'm actually afraid to put flats on my Fodera. I know it's going to sound insane and I'm not going to want to put rounds on there anymore and I just can't do it! I solo a little too much in my usual band and I just can't do it with flats!

Hey Mitch,

Enjoy the AC KBP5! Nice bass and I'll miss it... Fodera Imperial has been a nice addition to the stable though.

Let's see some tour pix with you and "Plum Crazy" when you get out on the road! :bassist:

Best,

Mike

killer bass. still needs some adjusting but sounds like a KBP5! Not really diggin this new bridge but maybe I need to get used to it....

Sick... I want it originally.....just a matter I never get a p bass gig....
Congrats!!!!

Haha every gig is a P bass gig! Dude, this bass is slammin! I've been messing around with the setup a little each day since I threw the TIs on there and I have to say, this is by far my favorite Alleva yet!

The bridge issue has pretty much subsided after I gave the neck a bit more bow and lowered the saddles....

(Tongue in cheek)Yeah, because you didn't go bent plate with this bridge. [wink]

Still can't believe she's gone, my friend. Hope you're doing okay. :-)

Yes.....I'm the guy that snatched this beauty! It sounds amazing as is but I'd like bit more bloom to the notes. I'm considering bent plate style bridge. Would adding a Babicz be complete heracy? Any thoughts?

Tried switching b style bridge to vintage blend bridge on a LG, after that, hi-mid is more presence to my ears.. And sounded more "vintage", "Fender'ish" to me

Ah, I was just teasing Vic. He and I had the same Fbass VF5 except for our bridges, his was bent plate and mine BA5.

I believe i did a truncated review on the Bent Plate vs the B style way back in the beginning.. Part 1 or 2 of this .
We (Jimmy and I) went though about 5 different styles. Different metals. cast vs machined,, brass, aluminum, Steel, etc..
Also Jimmy have anew Bent plate that will be out soon if not already. I think rick may have done the RnD on that .. not sure. But it will have the track guides so the saddles wont shift from side to side...
I have the original style that Jimmy has custom fab'd..but does not have the quik release.. And i need the quik release...

I wanted to share some photos that I took then evening of my LG5 that I am passing on to a good friend and highly talented bassist. This bass has something special about it, from it's fit and finish to its thumb when you are treating her just right. As a farewell, I wanted to share some pictures of here that show her true beauty top to bottom. Jimmy shares a piece of himself with every AC, and I am happy to share this one with someone new...

The eye candy:

Heads up for everyone that I have a Trans Rootbeer LM5 Special Edition up in the classifieds.

I seem to remember a few people over time here inquiring about this color ...so check it out ...and you can always pm me for more details.

Took my Dakota Red, matching headstock (early Fender-style design before Jimmy moved to the larger shape) LG4 #2 out to rehearsal tonight.

First time I've really played it at serious volume and it sounded wonderful. I've been mostly funk and soul bands for years and have just joined a more modern rock oriented group and the LG4 worked really well in this context.

It's currently wearing Seymour Duncan pickups and a John East pre-amp but I have some genuine AC pickups on the way and a Celinder/Greengrove pre-amp to fit so hopefully they'll really make it sing :)
