Hey everyone!

Well I snapped a few mediocre pics today but atleast they'll give you an idea how nice looking this bass really is.

I absolutely love everything about this bass. The Ice Blue Metallic is incredible in person. The tort guard matches perfectly. The blocks and binding are perfect and the nitro on the back of the neck is the perfect color.

I couldn't be happier!

I'll comment more on the tone and playability soon.

Thanks! I love it! It's elegant in its simplicity. No frills on it at all. I would get it again in a heartbeat.

Also, the Hercules stands are great. They are kind to the nitro.

Thanks, Matt! I dig the Hercules as well. I bought it because of how it works with nitro. The music store I bought it from had a nitro Les Paul hanging on it. The only stand I'll buy from here on out. It's great!

Bernie and Sean - many congratulations! Sean, I love the white pickguard against the blue! Bernie, the blocks and binding on that dark rosewood are insane! The basses look amazing!!! There's nothing around that's as "pre-CBS jazz" as one of Jimmy's LG's (apart from a pre-CBS jazz, of course :smug:)!

It's been a while since I've posted here. My LG-5 has pretty much been sitting the bench for a while due to a need for the really grindy ash/maple thing on some of my current gig situations. As a result I've been really conflicted about what to do with her.

Then, I pulled her out today and spent about an hour and a half with her. Played through some jazz standards, some old funk tunes, some original compositions - man... I don't know if it's completely subjective but there is a serious richness in the tone of the Dalbergia that I've just not heard anywhere else. When Jimmy called the night he completed her (at about 9pm NY time!) he described it as "really fat and buttery, just like I imagined it." Just completely accurate.

Anyway, I believe she's going to be heading to California soon for a little updating. I'm going to have Jimmy go over her for a few things and probably swap the vintage out for the Hipshot bridge and I may move to stainless from the nickels. The vintage bridge is, well... just that, crazy old school. It's amazingly punchy, this is the punchiest bass I've ever owned.

That said, for what I'm doing I could go with a little more sustain of the Hipshot, and I think the stainless will give it that little bit of extra grit. I'm going to ask Jimmy's advice on the stainless, but I think it will be the way to go for my particular situation.

All in all, this is a very, very special bass. I think my only option at this point is to get an LM-5, an RA-5, a KPB-4 and an LG fretless. . .

So..........I stopped by the Jimmy's shop this morning and picked up my bass!

LG-5
Aged Olympic White w/ matching headstock w/ nitro finish, and dalbergia negra fingerboard!:D....its friggin awesome!

I waited so long for this bass and let me tell you that it was WELL WORTH the wait! I haven't to had a chance "really" play it yet, but so far so good. It so easy to play, it doesn't even feel like its a 5 string! It plays so effortlessly. The paint, set-up, finish is perfect! The fingerboard is :eek: Its truly a vintage bass w/ a modern electronics, I just can't wait to really crank up the volume and jam with this bad boy! Jimmy is a master at what he does and I feel very lucky to receive such a bass. This bass is never leaving my side. :bassist:

I know that the bass doesn't really exist until pics are posted, I will try and post some pics tomorrow.

I don't know but I have about 12 or 15 sets of strap ends here now! If I could buy just the body pins that would be fab! I have thrown away a LOT of strap buttons over time! Anyone need any strap buttons for a Dunlop system? PM me and I will send you some...the FIRST 10 or so people who need them should be fine to get a pair.
