Wow! :bassist::bassist:

Nice bass!

Dont all RA's have black blocks?

The RA Custom model can be ordered with RW board and perloid blocks.

Per a discussion a while back in this thread, it's probably more simple to just think about the combinations of options you want versus trying to keep track of all these model names.

It seems the only thing within the J Bass realm that Jimmy doesn't do is 60's pickup position in an ash bodied bass (according to the posts by Jimmy a while back). All other options are available (blocks and binding on an ash/maple bass, 70's position on an alder bodied bass, binding with no blocks on any bass, etc., etc., etc.).

Jimmy actually made it pretty easy for me a few weeks back when I started the process of my order for an LM5...70s spacing, Ash/Maple with vintage tone control, lolly pop tuners.

If you are on a budget and can live without blocks and binding, a non tinted satin finish neck, standard solid color guard, and standard non metallic (or custom) color then the LM5 Basic should fit the bill.

If you want metallic finish, tort guard and tinted neck or gloss headstock you are looking at the LM5 Standard.

For all the options of a LM5 standard with blocks and binding the LM5 Deluxe.

I am paraphrasing our correspondence but I thought it was pretty simple.

I have GASSED for this bass since I saw its picture at the Namm show.

I had to listen to all the nasty Antigua haters jibes.

I couldn't believe my luck when I found out it was going to be for sale in the UK:bassist:........I couldn't believe my luck when I saw the price :bawl:

Now she's mine and believe me it was worth the wait!:bassist::bassist::bassist:

I love it! Don't listen to the haters! That's a beautiful instrument!
+1 !!!!!!!!!

Flanker,
Even tho I'm one of the "bad guys" on that finish, the look of an instrument is a very personalized thing and my opinion should have NOTHING to do with what you personally like.

Man I was just playing my LG again last night and trust me, I KNOW what you mean about it being "worth it". Dang I love these basses! :)

Hey guys I'm only jesting about the Antigua comments.

In the past I sometimes haven't been that keen on them myself but this one just looks classy to me, it appears a lot more grey than the usual green?

Andrew maybe my attraction to the bass worked as you described - nice thought, thanks! :)

If you buy a LG or LM in the UK you really could call it precious! :D

I'll 'fess up I'm a hater....:D

For the record the ugliest bassI ever played was antigua, but the kicker was that it had a matching antigua burst pickguard.

Wow that was bad, I think it looks pretty nice with the black guard and maple board....

I still don't think my LM will be Antigua though..

Pete
