I might buy a set when I visit New York next month. Are they available in regular music stores?
I've seen them for sale at higher end bass focused shops, but your best bet is to buy a set off the ol'interwebs. If ya can't find those but like the nickel round sound, there is absolutely nothing wrong with D'Addarios.
...now that I think about it, I might have been using DR Fat Beams. ooops. It was many a gig ago!

That track is available on university of north texas' "lab band madness 2009" 3 disc compilation, Invalid Link Removed will have a link...but you just got it for free. SSSHHHHH, don't tell the jazz department! The other tracks are the other lab bands with other personnel, some WAY better, (WAY BETTER) but pretty much all the other tunes are straight ahead jazz. You really can't go wrong with any 1 o'clock lab band CD, but, sadly, there really isn't one available that is chock full of 70s big band funk. My band leader just noticed that my upright chops are dicey at best, so he kept pullin' out badass electric charts. lol. When he pulled out HAVONA, I drew the line. I CAN'T HANG WITH THAT SH!T! lol

Yep, I am still really digging the bass! It gets lots of comments from fellow players every time I play. Here she is from the other day at a show and in the guitar rack while in the studio....

Your bass is nitro, correct?
Yes it is Nitro, I never really knew the difference before. I always just thought that my 1965 Fender Jazz and P basses were just worn in really well..... not I know that that is the "feeling" of the thin nitro finish.
I love it and if I ever get another Alleva Coppolo I would pay the extra for the nitro, feels great to play.
I'll put more pics up as it sees more shows.

Just combed through the classifieds and I can't believe Jonno's old 1600 is on the block, Tommix LG5 Nitro/DN board with 70s spacing and a killer looking sonic blue LG4. I am going to go back and bump them all to the top!

Both the 1600 and Tommix's LG have 70s spacing? Do you attribute that to the difference or something else?
BTW Joey I've got a LG5, KBP5 and an LM5 on order if you want to ever pop by and check them out let me know...
No I really dig 70's spacing and the bridge pickup in both of those basses had incredible clarity and punch but there's something very special about my LG5 that blows me away every time I play her...She breathes the Jaco tone...
