The new body style is a little bit bigger - about 1/4" all around. Jimmy decided on this to make the 5 string neck look more proportionate.

As you all saw I'm a pretty big dude so I was all about the bigger body when Jimmy told me about it!

And on those pics where we're holding the cut bodies... It looks like we're proud dads coming out of the OR.
Interesting. Well, I, for one, am glad I got a smaller body style. :)

Hey Miko,

Welcome to the club bro I knew you would flip over Jimmy's stuff...

Keep the pictures coming it's great to see his build process...

Looks like the new body has a deeper upper cut for high fret access is there anything else I am missing?

Hey Jon,

Yeah Jimmy is the man! The body is a little bit bigger than the current one.

We'll be posting pics of the next stages like body routing, neck cutting, etc, etc.

Nice...I definitely want the bigger body for mine - I'm 6'5" 300 lbs, I can handle it! :bassist:

Yes you can:D At least you've got the height, i'm 6'0" pushing 275 lbs:hiding:--- I need a wall to hide behind:p

You know, these basses are gorgeous. For a long time, I just couldn't get used to the headstock, but even they are growing on me..... unfortunately, out of my league($$) right now:atoz: I'd love to try one some day.

The headstocks on these are funny - I hated them at first, but one day, for some strange reason, I was looking at a headstock pic and I just "got" it...now I absolutely love the headstock.

I think *I* am the funny one. Some Foderas have large headstocks, and they make me laugh when I look at them, but I have NEVER disliked the headstocks of Alleva Coppolos, and whenever the subject comes up I strain to see what there is to not like about them. They look great to me, and I've read that the large headstock contributes to their great tone... so I definitely wouldn't want MINE changed!

Since yours is a new order like ours I am fairly sure it will be the bigger body but get a hold of Jimmy just in case though...

Man, that Oly White KPB-4 w/ the EMG pickup is calling me... Well, minus the EMG pickup.

I know what I said about the EMG pickup in that KBP4... I didn't even get a chance to play it so I jumped ahead there.

You guys make valid points... Bobby Vega's vintage Fenders sound awesome with EMG's... Killer tone no matter what rig he played at BPL.

Not only is he a great player but he's a real nice guy too.
I wanted to share a picture of Bobby V and me with his old J bass at the namm Alleva booth..

EMGS were not in that bass yet...

Bobby Vega smokes...He could make a log sound great!

That is sweet... I wish I would've taken a pic with Bobby at BPL. I spent some time talking to him and boy was he a character. Can't help but love the guy. I asked him what kind of picks he used and he pulled out his briefcase and hands me 2 of his signature Dunlop picks! Then I told him, "You didn't answer my question, what kind/gauge are these? Cause I'm not using these, I'm gonna save them!" LOL... Dunlop Tortex .73's.

And for his basses, the 2 J's w/ EMG's I remember was a Sunburst Rosewood w/ Blocks and a Seafoam Green one... He was at BPL for EMG so you would think any bass he played at the event would have them, right?

Back to A-C basses... More and more everyday I am starting to feel like I am not gonna be able to wait for my bass to be built... I'm tempted to make a move now on any of the available ones and either keep or move that when mine is built. Oh the GAS!
