ive been holding my tongue since i ordered my kpb4 a couple months now... im impressed how that was spotted so fast within all those pics! Now that its out in the open, is there any preference for 1 piece? tonally? or is it just a looks thing?

I just got an FBass J model (VF5) with the one piece neck and skunk stripe. It does look cool. My guess is, it is primarily a 'vintage look' thing than anything tonally, although I'm sure there is some subtle stuff going one (like the difference, if any, between a one piece or two piece or three piece body, etc. Nice touch though if you really are trying for a vintage vibe.
VERY well said!... I replaced it with a badass II (pictured) and everything I thought this bass could be, was! It instantly felt more consistent on all of the notes. The sustain was enhanced and the high end clank smoothed out. ... I think the bass has the same vintage vibe and tone that I loved. Now its even better!
Keep in mind that the change was not dramatic but isn't that extra 5% satisfaction worth it?
Isn't that why we all shelled out an extra 2 grand to jump from a great jazz to the ultimate jazz? ...

According to Hipshot, they make a special hole configuration just for Jimmy which you can order factory direct. According to Jimmy, the bent plate bridge is manufactured around the hole parameters of and is interchangeable with the Badass 2.Do the Hipshot vintage bent plates have the same mounting holes?
