Here's quick shot. I'll try to get a good one later

My Ice Blue Nordy didn't have much of an odor at all, I don't think.....I'll let you know about the paint on my A-C whenever the hell it gets here....... Nice, by the way, Andrew.. I thought about that color combo myself.....

Your Bass Looks VERY Lickable! Great choice and I'm sure it sounds wonderful...just wait till you hear it in a mix or get out and gig it! It will grow on you more and more. How much does she weigh?

Talking about the Nitro smell, I didn't notice anything on my LG5. But the body was shot first and then the neck/headstock, so it may have had time to air out.

That Alleva is rather gorgeous Andrew!

Actually I'm in Perth, West Oz. Hot & dry except when it's cold and wet and some pretty big temperature swings in the summer. Sounds like the necks are very stable. What's the waiting time on an instrument for an order placed, I dunno, about now-ish? ;)

Jimmy said 6months to me and Im another Perth boy. My LG-5 should be here in late April/early May.. If all goes to plan.

I actually find that my necks on all my basses are really stable down here.

Hi

Lets see,,,, Well It weighs about 9.5 according to the sketchy bathroom scale. For me that a good weight. What I'm used to.

Its very warm and organic sounding, sounds like what I was expecting, a old jazz bass. It's very even can't wait to hear it in a mix.

For me one of the nicest things is a little detail Jimmy put in. See, Jimmy called me Christmas eve and said he was putting together my bass. Well it seems he dates the instruments and it says 12-24-07 on the neck plate but instead of the "-" symbols he etched in little Christmas trees:p:p

I feel a great sense of thought, care and pride of a craftsman went into this ax and I feel a growing pride in ownership and support of such a shop.

In short, What a bunch of great people that I have no problem giving my money to.

Someone asked about Doing a finishing edge on the Alleva Coppolo Pickguards.... I spoke with Jimmy about that and he suprized me today at NAMM... We were at Grover Jacksons factory and he pulled this out.. I think we need to do a poll to see if anyone likes the idea...

Yes! I like it!

I didn't really notice the lack of that until I looked at that and then at My pic below. I need that.

That looks great with the finished edge!

Andrew - the Ice Blue looks amazing - the contrast with the really dark rosewood board - fantastic looking bass!

No need for a poll there. That looks much better... looks 'finished'. That's a no brainer on these basses. I'd probably take the plunge on a replacement guard for mine if he made these available. It's a small thing, but an improvement. Cool!

I actually like the original better.

Interesting. While it's a small deal, the original just looks a touch unfinished and non-symmetrical (i.e., the 'finish' of the guard edge just kinds of stops and starts up again. This way it looks more like an integrated design, versus a stock pick guard without a chrome plate.

The finish is a great improvement to me, but I guess there will be some who like the original. Maybe we do need a poll!
