What is he actually using, is it an allen key fitting? Is it easy to adjust the truss rod, you can do it without removing the neck right?
Yeah..it's easy to adjust since all it takes a a bent phillips head, and there is a large space to access the rod, shown here.
I've had my LG5 through the change from fall to winter and it hasn't needed any adjustment yet.

+1 Even a standard flathead screw driver works fine. The neck on mine is very stable. I've only adjusted it once, as the seasons changed, and it took a very, very, very slight turn to get it perfect again... I'm talking like a 1/16th tightening.
That being said, I greatly prefer the wheel adjuster that Roger uses, or a solidly fitting Allen wrench design.
I get the 'old school' thing, but quite frankly, there have been improvements and I would prefer those to be incorporated (dunlap dual use strap locks and a more modern truss rod adjustment) where they don't really impact the look or the bass.
Very small issue. The key is that the neck is easily adjustable without taking the neck off, or removing the guard.
Cool, that's all that really matters. The temperature and humidity vary a lot where I live. I run a pretty low action so I find myself tweaking truss rods regularly. I agree, the sadowsky wheel adjuster is nice to use but I can understand the desire not to have it visible. I would have thought an allen (hex) fitting would be an acceptable option though. I kind of cringe at the thought of using a screwdriver on an angle on such nice instruments. Not too keen on the bent phillips head solution long term either, but at least it's doable.
If I remember correctly, you live near San Bernadino somewhere. I live in east San Diego County (25 to 117 range in temp and 3% to 150% (well it feels that way!)humidity). The point is, I have not had to adjust the neck on my LG-5 in over a year. It is a really stable one, since I have adjusted the necks on the rest of my basses a couple of times each inthat time.

When I placed my order, Jimmy told me 4-6 months for a KPB-5 but I think he is pushing hard on getting them to market. If it is anything nearly as nice as my LG-5 he has a winner.
FWIW, I am selling my Sadowsky 5-24 because I prefer my AC. My current preference is: Ken Lawrence Brase 5, AC LG-5, Sadowsky 5-24, Lakland 55-94, and Warmoth fretless.

The nitro that Carey used on my Nordy had a slight scent to it. Nothing real strong but it was there. I didn't think it was bad though.
