You have a store anywhere near you where you can try stuff out?

Hi Wavey, I used to have the blue cab 30, got it secondhand from a guy on Basschat, but moved it on when I went on a selling splurge, so that I could have #209, without having to resort to months of beans on toast ( Tom love's that expression )

I do intend to visit Invalid Link Removed they are less than a couple of hours away, and with them being a bass specialist, I would hope for good independant advise, and the chance to try stuff out.

The local music stores seem to try and cover all instruments, for beginners, with mainly budget starter gear. ( nothing wrong with that because thats how I started out ) I think now, I need to move more towards high end gear, or I don't think I will be happy

Bloody xmas coming as well :rollno:

Xmas - that expensive time of year!!

The plan to visit bass direct sounds like a good 'un. I only have 1 guitar store on my little rock. He has about 5 basses and 2 bass amps. So I don't get to try out much gear. But then again, it's probably a good thong to avoid ALL temptation, else Xmas could get even MORE expensive!!!

31 lbs? Yikes, you must be a weight lifter or something.

I use this guy

It is especially nice for my upright bass as well, but it's only 20lbs and came with a fitted hard case :D

I've played through one of those before, amazing sounding little combos!
The downward firing speaker makes a huge difference, especially on a wooden floor.
Painful price tag though, or I would own one... :)

Hey All,
Tom just shipped #214 to me today. I am super stoked to get my hands on her.
Here is what the finished bass looks like.

Thanks again Tom.

New shot of the Double neck from the Blog - I am so digging this new shape and the headless thang. There's something way cool about headless basses.

So - Palmbay...

has you parcel of woody goodies arrived?

When I see the outline of this one, I think of Bob Seger's bass player sporting a Steinberger doubleneck in the video for the song he did for Beverly Hills Cop. I cant imagine Seger's bass player actually playing it in the studio though. It seemed like a prop for him to use during filming.
