Here we go:
#216
-5 string, 35"
-single cut
-swamp ash body, bloodwood fingerboard
-small, stainless frets
-2 big singles
-ultra wide neck. I requested a special nut width (55mm). In contrast, Music Man 5s have a 44.5mm nut and Fenders are 47.6mm. This thing is gonna be giant. :bassist:

And best of all, it sounds like he should be getting started fairly soon. Damn am I excited!

Hiya Sub, not only can Tom seem to be able to start quite quickly, he gets the job done quite quickly as well. I have just been checking through my emails and I did the deposit on the 14th September, and my top was clamped up on the 15th.

It was then all done and finished and shipped on the 27th October, and he even went on a trip for a week as well.

Enjoy the process mate, Tom is a great laugh as well as a serious bass builder :hyper:

I just happen to like the way series sounds for dual-coil pickups but I do like the idea of having a switch. As far as preamps I'm probably gonna stick with Bartolini. They're the cheapest and sound fantastic :).

I mostly use the parallel mode to get a bit of a modern sound, while series gets a nice and clean vintage sound. Split is a little different than the series with the obvious noise.

Bartolini's pre-amp is always nice. I haven't paired them with the Nordstrands, but have no reason to believe it wouldn't sound great.
