Hello, been in contact with Tom recently on building a 6 string Jon, Ash body, Claro Walnut top, Bart electronics. Question, how has the gloss finishes held up? I initially just wanted an oil finish, but now I'm thinking about having the gloss applied. Any pros/cons I should be aware of? Here's a pic of the top I'm considering.

452 Updated. Dropped the top - returned to the shelf. Going for a solid ash body, maple neck and fret board, VVT passive using Nordstrand NJ6S pickups. 35/19/6 configuration. Darlene body , of course.
There, now I feel happy.

Ordered a new bass from Tom yesterday. Needing a new fretless, stacked up just enough pennies.

Simple specs are my favorites. Why did you decide on dual P pups?

My 5 string is a double P under soapbar shells. I love it. I really like fretless P basses but want a bridge option. I know they sound great but you don't see too may of them.

This is my 5th Clement. Always knew when I was ready for a new fretless Tom was the person for the job.

GHS precision Flats. Mainly because it is just about the only flat's I haven't used. I plan to rock the for at least a few months. If I don't like them a have some gentle used TI Jazz rounds on the shelf.

The swamp ash really is perfect. Really complements that body shape.

#454 is coming along. Body and neck rough cut.
