I agree, but I like the looks of RW better on just about any bass. I like the contrast of the silver stings, against the dark board.

I'm thinking the person who ordered it wanted the same look as a Fender '57 RI, like the one in my AV: Two-tone 'burst, gold guard, maple board. Works for me!

But did you hear the Chi's? I have a DS and a ChiSonic bass, and they are close. Chi's have a little more mids to my ear on my rig. Not trying to start anything here, just trying to save you some coin and time! Every Lakland I buy in the future will have ChiSonics.

Thanks guys, it worked out well.
I'm not sure why they put those mint green guards on green basses.
There was one on my DPLE I, Sherwood green & mint just didn't work for me there either.

Ok, I've asked before... does Lakland use the same pups on the 4s and the 5ers? Because it looks like they do, and the pup barely seems to span far enough to get the B and G strings, especially the bridge pup on the 5ers. It's not as evident in this pic, but it was in the NAMM pics.

More importantly, who can vouch for the bridge pup on the 5er from hands-on/ears-on experience? thanks guys
