Any material that is non-magnetic (not ferrous) will not disrupt the magnetic field and consequently not affect the tone.
That's good to know as we all know that our fingers do rub against the PU's, and after a while, the covers must get used and not look as good.... That's a good trick to keep the PU's looking like the day they came out of your shop!!!
I've been using iPhone screen covers over the pickups and on the slap area for years, they don't affect the tone and my basses still look like new.

I think of buying light 500w amp like Markbass or Genz Benz, or new EBS Reidmar, or Tecamp. I've heard abot Euphonic Audio, but don't know this brand too.

So glad you're still loving that AC6. Truly one of the nicest basses I've ever had the pleasure to play, let alone own. If it had been 18mm, it would come with me to the grave.
My advice: Audition as much stuff as you can, don't take others suggestions as fact because everyones needs, preferences, and definitions of "tone terms" varies widely. Nothing substitutes for your own ears. That said, F bass > Tecamp FTW IMO

Thanks ! Speaking of beautiful things ... I just finished a 300Km bike tour around the Lac St-Jean (véloroute des bleuets - for those not familiar with this lake, google «Lac St Jean», Quebec) ... wild blueberries galore ... the highlight of my summer
Oops, sorry, back to bass talk. Er, I missed my basses while cycling !
I've played pretty much every amp/cab available and I settled for my Aguilar DB751 and Schroeder PL115/PL210. I swear I've never sounded better. Most of the time I take my Streamliner 900 or Shuttle 9.0 to my gigs though, they fit right on my gig bag pocket and sound amazing. I swear the Streamliner sounds very similar to my DB751!!

Ahhhhhhhhh.. yes yes... it's a beautiful trip on bike... And it's no lie when we say that our blueberries are the biggest and best... hahaha.... Well, I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip to my region, and who knows.... maybe we'll cross paths somewhere down the road.... And yes, do enjoy those basses, as I will mine as soon as health permits me. I just bought a BNF 6 from George and Marcel...Fine gentlement they are, and a pleasure to do business with... I'd like to get to Hamilton sometime in the future, and at the same time cross through Ottawa... It's not a new place for me, as I got to play there quite a few times when I was in the forces.... Wasn't based with the Central Band, but rather in St-Hubert, Quebec...(Royal Canadian Artillery Band)... OK... much too long... Have a great evening....

Now that's a good idea ! How do you like your GK3B so far? What unit are you using it with (original VB or VB99)? What sounds/patches do you like with your FBass?

I've got VB-system and really love it. It also has got Caron's sounds, so it's rather unique
My friend from Moscow asked Alain to send some his presets. They received midi file with his sounds (Pacman, D-code, Ocean of trees, Slam the clown, Solitude etc.) and installed on VB using a program, I don't know which exactly I don't use a lot of patches now because I play in a cover band with guitar and keys so I needn't use some pads or non-bass sounds
I use just clean, synth bass for disco of 80s and 90s like Modern Talking, Sabrina, Lian Ross, CC Catch etc, clean sound with chorus, delay and imitation of fretless for soloing, clean sound with emulation of a pitched amp's drive as if bass sounds with guitar, also Moody GK for imitation of violins. Hope some jazz trios start in September and I'll start use more sounds By the way I really wanna try GR55. I saw VB in Richard Bona's pedalboard, now he is using GR55.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but can you bend the iphone screen protectors around the sides of the pups or do they lay just flat on top of the wood covers? Jim
I have grown very fond of the Fodera compressed round wound stainless light gauge so that's what I asked George to set it up with. I have started using these on all my fretted basses.
