hi guys
i have been intrigued by these basses for some time now.
i have an opportunity to buy a BN6 locally which means i could play it before i buy it.
i am curious as to what a fair price would be to pay on one in great, original condition.

Is this a new BN6 from a store? Or a used one?

I own 2 BN6s, but because I got them both new and am not looking to sell them, I have no idea what the market for used BN6s is like...

So my advice would be to go to the classifieds section of talkbass, and do a search on "FBass". You can't search for "BN6" because talkbass's search doesn't allow for 3 letter words.

I'd look over what has been happening lately with used BN6s and use that as a starting point.

Let us know what you think of it when you play it though. I'm curious.

In my experience, used bn6's can sell for as little as 2200 and as much as $$$ depending on upgrades vs stock. That said, i had a heck of a time selling mine and it ended up going for about 2k. It had a 1 piece body too. I really miss that bass and how low I had to go to sell it makes it sting even more.

I should have a BN4 dropped off at my door step this Friday. It's the Trans-Black one that went from MVP to Brett to Tall-n-Stout Rob. I hope I warm up to it a bit more than the previous owners. I'm REALLY looking forward to playing the daylights outta this Beast!

Actually if you put a Space after BN6 it will search. It worked when I was searching for BN4.

Have you guys noticed Fbass has a new cabinet out?

It looks great.

It looks like it has a metal handle for lugging around, and a plastic handle so you can pick it up and stack it.
