There can be an uneven boost towards the max position with non-linear pots instead of being gradual, unsure what type F Bass uses, but if it is a very noticeable jump and not just a boost, I'm not sure that DeoxIT will work in this situation. The sprays are more for cleaning debris and reducing scratchiness.
Heres a pic of my Walnut Top and second pic is of Guatemalan Rosewood board and purfling!!!
Thanks FBASS!!!!!
I have owned many customs basses, and I have always returned to FBASS...Ive sold all my other basses!!!
I was going to email you and ask how he was doing.I guess summer is the time to spend some time outside, far from the bass and the computer.
Not for me though, giving "Thor" (fretted AC6) and my BNF6 a run for their lives. So far, black beauties will stay in the AC6, sort of help me control the movements of my right (plucking) hand and my 3.5 finger technique...
Cheers...
Sorry for the tardy reply. On most of my Fbasses I use Fbass straps. Some have strap locks, some do not -- but since I rarely ever take a strap off of a bass (I have a lot of straps) the straps never get loose and my basses stay on.HEY TOM7!!!
I'm thinking about ordering a new strap for the VF5. I'm leaning towards this one here. The Levy's M29 comfort strap. How about everyone post what strap system they are currently using and why? View attachment 351141View attachment 351142
BEST "selfie" ever!
Great counsel.I use the F Bass straps. I've found that a wide and soft strap makes a bass feel lighter and more comfortable. Also, a certain amount of friction helps the bass stay in position and the F Bass strap is perfect. I also have one of the Levy's equivalent but it is not as soft.
I also recommend a strap lock in the bottom position so the strap doesn't come off when placed on a stand, but regular strap button on the horn for easy removal when taking the bass off or placing in gig bag. No strap lock on horn end also prevents damage.

My pleasure! Congratulations! I have Fbasses from both Fretspot and Bass San Diego, great places!Hello Everyone!
I would like a number... I actually have 2 F Basses on the way! One is a fretted BN5 from fretspot and the other is a fretless BN5 from Bass San Diego.

That threw me at first too, then I looked at the F logo on the headstock... I was tempted to flip the photo horizontally before my repost of it.Hey Jim!
I was looking in the Mirror.
Which IPA were you enjoying?
Nothing like some dogfish head 120 minute IPA. 18-20%
Yeah, a number makes you legit!I'm fairly new to TB and this forum, but I've had a BN5 since 8/2000. I hadn't been using it for the past few years but started gigging with it again and I'm really enjoying it. Got some new gear coming in and I'm anxious to hear how it's going to sound.
By the way, I would like a "number". I don't know what it is or why I want one, I only know I do. :^)

Okay, I don't mean to gush too much about your photo skills, but these are nice photos. LOVE that backdrop!
Oh I LOVE it, definitely!Yes sir! After owning two glossy BN5s I can say I'm really diggin this right now. I actually prefer this. My wife said the new VF5 looks more high-end and boutique than my old BN5 that I traded for it.
What do you guys think?
