That is really beautiful. I generally prefer less glossy finishes as well. Feels more like wood I guess.

I've noticed my BN5 has developed a blemish right where my thumb rests. It won't come off with cleaning so I'm starting to think the finish is rubbing off there. Any thoughts on what do do about it?

Just keep playing it! It's just a little personality. But yeah, other than sending it back to George, I doubt there's anything you can do.

Marcel drops by this thread from time to time. Perhaps he could offer you a suggestion.

Hey Jim!

I was looking in the Mirror.

Which IPA were you enjoying?

Nothing like some dogfish head 120 minute IPA. 18-20%

Yikes, that's not an IPA,that's Coleman lantern fuel! I'm digging lately Indiga from Lost Coast Brewery in Eureka,Ca. Lots of good ales made in this neck of the woods. So what are the biggest differences between the VF and the BN for you? If you were switching back and forth what would be the biggest difference in ergonomics, neck feel, weight ,how it feels on a strap? 18 -20 % alc. Whoa Nelly!!

Neck dive is something I can't deal with at all. My BN5 DID have it but I fixed it by installing the Gotoh ultralight machines, I can't recommend them enough to anyone with neck weight issues.

None of my F Basses has had any neck dive issues, but my new BN6 has Hipshot Ultralite tuners. It makes the bass even more comfortable and they have a great feel when tuning. In fact I like them so much that I specified those tuners for the VF5 and BNF5 I currently have on order!

Well GAS got the best of me today and ordered my custom AC6.. I bounced a few ideas off of George/Marcel and Jeff...and we came up with this Giant of a bass..."WALLACE"
Solid Walnut body one piece (chambered)
Walnut top one piece
Ash neck 5 piece
16.5mm spacing
Guatemalan Rosewood fingerboard
Fretted
Alder tone block
White / black / White Purfling
2 mag pickups
No Piezo in this one!
exposed pole pieces..Alder veneer
Dunlop inset strap locks...
Black hardware
That's all I can remember at this time!!!!... So stoked....Will this GAS ever End????...LOL

Thanks FBASS Family and Friends....Best Basses EVER!!!!
