Club Fbass (thread 13)

Hi!
ive just got my first Fbass VF5!
what strings do you use here? :)

Hey man. Welcome to the family:) you won't regret the VF5. What wood combo did you get? Mine is ash maple with 70's PU spacing. I generally prefer the DR Marcus millers on it which is what George recommended to me. What kinda tone you going for?

I will have to agree with McMillions...but another option is the DR Hi Beams and the DR Lo Riders!!!...Both Stainless string!!
**Correct me if im wrong..but I think the Hi Beams are the basis for the Marcus Miller string>?*

Good luck

Hey Randy, today I brought my dear BNF6 to George and Marcel for relatively major surgery as after long consideration I am installing piezos on it. I am in a sort of quest to see this bass going from sublime to "supreme" ;)

Talking to them, we chatted about Thor, the rare AC6 fretted, and Marcel said "we have Thor's sibling here"... So I got to finally "met" Odin, a sort naked version of Odin as they were working on it and did not have its strings on it.

Have to say, knowing you are enjoying a new incredible bass, this Odin is another "one of a kind" instrument, what a beautiful specimen. I felt it was a tad heavier than "Thor", and it felt its dimensions were a mm narrower. Is it a 17/18mm string space bass? Gave me the impression of being a "faster" instrument, even without strings on it.

Anyway, I was glad to finally meet Odin, congrats on another beautiful instrument.

Thank you for the kind words...yes...I cant say enough about the people and work that comes out of FBASS...it is truly unbelievable!!!...and your correct...Odin is...One of a Kind..as is "Thor"!!!

its too bad you didn't get to play Odin!...As I just received Wallace (BNF6) I thought I would send back Odin, its there for a little service...just minor stuff!!!...Good call on the Piezo system...I believe you will really enjoy it!! It really opens things up ...so many Sonic possibilities!!
The spacing on all my FBASS are 16.2mm...it makes for a very fast neck to say the least ..LOL

Thanks again...

FBASS are the Best!!!

I have a question about the pickups and preamp since I as unable to find any information about them anywhere. I see 6 knobs on the bass and was just curious about functions and EQ points. I would certainly welcome being pointed in the right direction with links.

Here's a video I did explaining the control layout. Sorry, don't recall the eq points.
