I'm very happy to announce that I was able to acquire the flat-top BN5 on the current FBass homepage. It could possibly be the most beautiful bass I've owned. And of course, sounds excellent like my three previous BN5s and BN6. Cheers! (Club member 141, thank you )

The FBass strings are phenomenal. There's so much harmonic richness in the tone. It's especially prominent playing the open strings.

I had LaBella 760FL-B Deep Talking Flats on my BN5 for a couple years. I loved how they sounded and used them a lot at home when practicing.

However, I also had a BN with rounds at the same time and mostly used that when playing out since the sound team I worked with at church seemed to be able to slot it in the mix easier. Certainly not an issue of flat vs round more the sound the FOH was trying to achieve.

Though at home playing along with tracks the BN with flats had a great vibe.

Ah, I have been too busy playing this bass than posting more about it!
Yeah its a rosewood fingerboard, alder body and maple neck. This really nails that 60's jazz bass tone, but with the benefits from the preamp! This has been hands down my favorite Fbass

Thanks, Yes I've been combing Reverb, TB classifieds, Ebay, CL etc... Mainly my issue is wanting to find the right one at the right price. Last time I checked, used stock BN5's were mid to high 2's, now many seem to be low to mid 3's, including ones beat to crap. Just waiting to find the right one, and I figured it never hurts to ask the hive mind here in case anyone is looking for an easy sale for one they're not playing.

yeah, I guess so. All of the BN's I have sold, I sold at market value in the low to mid 2's a few years back. Now the same basses are 5-800 more it seems. Good for F. Tough for my budget today. I do see some here and there in the mid 2's so I'm gonna hold out and see if I can find one, we'll see.

Makes me feel REAL queasy about selling my 1 piece body BN6 for 2 grand about 8 years ago. Que sera.

I don't think you will find them in the "low" 2K any more- which I'm glad to see
