Marcel indicated that there is a grip concern for some, some split with use, and some ultimately just spun.

I’ve not experienced any of these things and I wouldn’t expect a warranty claim to resolve any of those issues, but that’s just me. It’s a wood knob…

I have way too many basses, and I do try to work most (but not quite all) of them into the gig duty rotation. Sometimes I do some mini-shootouts to pick what basses go to a particular gig. My Studio 5 gets the nod on a fairly regular basis, and my older BN4 just really stood out (as it always does) and got the nod for this weekend's gig.

How do you like those Trace 8” cabs, can they handle the low B, looking for a very lightweight system because of back problems.

I really like them. No tweeter, but sound very good with some treble boost (or without). Very good low end - deeper than the Trace ELF 1x10's, for sure. Really great cabs.

:rollno:Well! I traded with a TBer with a BN6. Everything was fine but wasn’t set up right. I did everything until I got to intonation adjustment and boom. Realized that on G & C strings the saddle won’t move enough back. Saw that they have used Longer intonation screws on these ones. One of them is buckled and the saddle screw thread is kind of stripped and the scree won’t go all the way. WD 40 didn’t help. and even a healthy saddle screw won’t go in now. So literally I’m bassless now :rollno::(
The bass is 10 years old. Looks like a deluxe version. I am about 2 hours from F bass workshop. is this something that’s under warranty ?
does hipshot send saddle and bridge parts or do I need to buy the whole bridge. I am out of cash and can’t afford to buy the whole bridge. I am in a pickle

any pointer and help is much appreciated

Update : on all the saddles on D G and C strings one screw is super tight. One C string saddle screw wont even move. Never came across this before.

If it’s like mine, the top screw controls the spacing, or allows for the spacing to change or be locked in place. In addition, the screws come in different lengths. They also can’t go out the front of the saddle. This requires shorter screws to get the saddles all the way back, probably springs too. I’d wait to talk to George or Hipshot before doing anything drastic.

I’d be surprised if it was a Deluxe BN since those weren’t available until about 2020. The website says there was 3+ years of R&D so it wouldn’t be crazy to think that early versions of the Deluxe floating around, but 10 years seems a stretch. Now I’m curious about this bass and the history. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable members has some insight.

No switches… no deluxe. Maybe exposed pole pickups?
