Hi guys, just made a simple vids as my love expressions for my Fbasses.
BN5.
VF5.
In addition to the response from @zortation , you may want to consider talking to George or Marcel directly for their input. There have been a few tweaks to the VF neck/body construction over the years, and if I remember correctly, these changes affected how similar they are to the "classic" jazz tone you may (or may not) be looking for.
Unfortunately I can't remember whether the earlier or later designs would be what you're after - Perhaps someone else can chime in as well.
David Hughes has a few YouTube videos comparing Aguilar pickups to the stock F-Bass pickups.I appreciate all the input guys! I reached out to F Bass directly, but haven't received a response. Has anyone swapped out their F Bass Singles for different pups (Nords, Duncan, EMG,)? I should be able to estimate if the Aguilar Swap will work from those specs... Thanks!
What a collection!I went a little bit crazy in the last couple of years. The best basses I've ever played.
... and why I'm interested in a relatively flat (and thus versatile) cab. I'd rather do the coloring with fx or eq when necessary.
Very interested to hear what you guys like along with your BNs, and any input & suggestions you may have for me.
How's the B with that cab?View attachment 1011417I use a TC212 v1 and Mesa D800 with my vf5. Love the setup. The Mesa adds a little color/warms and the cab is neutral and sounds amazing. I find that a modern efficient 112 can pass, but it is to small for my band even at practice (which is a 9 piece soul/funk band).
Bah, I'd heard of them but hadn't done any reading yet.Acme
