I reached out to Andi in mid-May to update my shipping address and he mentioned that August/September 2020 were massive months for orders and YJ was currently working on September 2020 builds and there were about a dozen or so ahead of mine (my confirmation was on 10/20/20).
Hope this gives a little insight.

I ordered mine in early June of 2020 so hopefully it is only delayed based on color choice and not my order being overlooked. I am fine to wait longer but a little disappointed in not getting an email response. I guess Andi is probably still working full out as well so it would be understandable.

That's odd. Cause these are—if I remember correctly—2019 (top), Dec 2021 (middle), 2018 bottom.

I feel like mine resemble Kenny's examples, maybe a little amber-y-er than that, possibly, but I think the quality of the light you observe them in has a ton to do with it.

Interesting! In that case there must be quite a big variance between batches, or it could be a camera thing.

I definitely see the difference there. Right looks more like my old Sadowsky. Both are cool.

So to throw my comparison out there, I received my Moollon P in Dec. '21. So this comparison is to '68 original Telecaster bass neck (body is an MJT relic). Definitely can see the difference and I also had YJ sand the finish down to a satin feel. I love the Moollon in every way and could care less what the back of the neck looks like on this bass.

It’s a 1965, but I believe the neck was re-sprayed sometime in the 70s. I don’t have pics handy at the moment, but your Moollon tint looks to be in the same neighborhood as mine (although that can be hard to tell from photos).

i've got a 56 p on order (almost 4 year wait) but i'm wondering if anyone has experience with the moollon tele basses and can tell me about any hum. i've read a few people swap the pickups and or have issues with that often.

yep we spoke about it which brought me here. He ended up swapping the pickup cuz it was unuseable downtown. I don’t play downtown at all but I’m thinking it may be an issue other places too

Is the quoted time up to 4 years now? I was hearing 3 years between here and Facebook and not surprised it could be up to 4. I absolutely love mine!

I don't know that it's 4years. That's what the OP said. I was told 18 months..
