Club Moollon

Either would have worked.
I couldn’t find any used. And new ones are scarce.

I ended up finding one this morning.

I can’t imagine what the Moollon purests are gonna think when i possibly put an old gold anodized pickguard on this. Heads will probably explode if I do.

It's your bass and if you want a D-Tuner on it-put it on. Although highly desired (and I am on the waiting list), these are not vintage or collectable at this time.
Who cares what others would think!

Well, if those purists have any reaction other than "looks cool!", then they really need to get a life. As I am currently refinishing a Classic P, Andi expressed to me after my inquiry about preferred finishes, and I paraphrase, "Pick whatever color you desire for your bass, it's your bass, and YJ has no preference what you do to your bass. However for Moollon aesthetic and consistency, he would probably prefer you do glossy as opposed to matte".

Speaking of which, how’s the progress coming? Look forward to pictures at some point.

I had to put it on hold ( and don't laugh ), but it's been pretty cold ( please don't laugh ) and rainy here in Socal, and I don't like working in my woodshop when it's cold. No heater, so it was probably like 50 degrees in there!
Hope to make some progress this weekend. Confirmed a sanding and spraying schedule with my lacquer supplier, and just had it delivered. Only sanding sealer and clear coat gloss.

50 degrees? Wow, that’s pretty cool for So Cal. May be spring temps up where I’m at (Puget Sound area) but yeah. About as comfy for you as above 85 up here.

Indeed. On a more serious and related note, I wouldn't spray nitro in any temperature under 65-70, and even then, need to warm up the nitro to much higher than that in order for it to lay down nice. Spraying in an unheated, empty shed.

50 degrees? I envy you

Gigged the Classic P this weekend.
It killed. Drummer was like “I don’t know what you did differently from last time, but whatever it is, it sounds f____ing amazing”.

Just added an Effectrode PC-2A compressor to my board and the Moollon.

M.K. Fredericks on Instagram: "Just some noodling on the Moollon Classic P . This is a great bass. One of the best Pbasses I’ve ever owned. #moollonbass #bassplayer #workingbassplayer #bassguitar #bass #bassplayer #precisionbasslovers #precisionbass"
