Yeah. You might be right. THis gold pickguard came with the bass which was painted gold originally. I wonder if Andi is still selling pickguards?

Yes I can confirm. I ordered a black J V guard a couple weeks back and received it. Here is the beauty I picked up here on the classifieds but with the new black guard. Chocolate and ash body. 70’s pickup spacing if I’m not mistaken…just noticed that the other day lol. Only two of these made it out of Korea in this color/wood combo.
I had 2 orders. An earlier, with deposit, and a later without a deposit. I cancelled the latter, but was returned my deposit from the former. I hope i'm wrong
If it's the same deposit amount, it was probably just whichever one AR found first, and it probably doesn't matter in the end.
My classic P finally arrived, a find on the secondhand market that I am incredibly happy with. The neck is a dream along with the fit and finish. I hope I don’t get slammed for saying this but I am a bit underwhelmed with the pickup, it seems to be a little too polite, especially in the lows for my liking. My main player up until this point is an AVRI ‘63 reissue and my main point of comparison today due to the moollon arriving with rounds has been my ‘57 fullerton reissue, as it’s also strung with rounds. Similar experience there sonically to the ‘63 - thunderous lows meets character filled mids. Sorry to say I’m just not getting the same from the moollon pickup. Maybe the previous owner swapped it out (I haven’t looked under the hood yet) or maybe it’s just not for me. Regardless, I feel I am going to need to swap this out to truly love the bass, hopeful this is the case, as feel wise I am blown away. I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if so if there are any recommendations for what I should swap out to, do I just go with the pure vintage ‘63 that I know and trust, or is there anyone familiar with this pickup that could point me in a similar sonic direction that better compliments the moollon? Thanks in advance.

I've had three Classic P's, and have no complaints about the pickups on any. Comparing to my 83 Fullerton AVRI, I don't find much difference from the Moollon regarding the pickup politeness. String height- to -pickup is important of course, and you might be able to dial that in if it needs it. Perhaps a different brand of roundwound may help? I think your first order of business is to confirm that you're working with a Moollon pickup, then go from there. I have flats on one Moollon P and rounds on my other. Love them both. Good luck!

Here are some pics, great call on pickup height and strings. These appear to be daddarios and I have elixirs on my fullerton reissue. Pickup does look lower too…not sure if you still have a classic P that sounds comparable to your fullerton that you could maybe measure, but any suggestions on height? Thanks!
