The LK straps are my favorite, but the ones from Levy's I've used for decades, last forever and a inexpensive, simple leather. Classic design and they get very soft. I have two Levy's ones from the Bass Centre in 1991 that are still going and feel amazing.

I also am a huge fan of the simple Levy’s straps. I have a few 3.5” wide black “simply suede” models that live on my instruments. My favorite strap is my oldest Levy’s, which I bought twenty-some years ago. It’s broken in so nice and soft.
certainly cheaper than the leather! Although looks like everything on the site is on sale. Do you prefer suede over their leather?
I don’t think I’ve tried their leather, although I honestly thought mine were leather straps with a suede backing. The suede backing grips shirts/clothes well so a bass with a bit of neck dive won’t neck dive. I think the model I use is; MS4-BLK
I received my first Moollon weeks ago from a fellow member of TB. It’s a JV and it has been amazing so far. Every time I pick it up to play I can’t put it down. Very fast attack and snap. The pickups sound really good too - Sweet Tone! I’m still getting used to a 5 string, so sometimes wish it was a 4-string, but now I know what all the hype is about. The Moollon’s have a special kind of mojo!
Beautiful color JV! I feel exactly the same with mine…still getting used to the 5 string but man what a bass. I would love a P and J four.
The only thing I can think of with tuners affecting tone somehow would be how their weight impacts the headstock's vibrations. Putting a weight on the headstock can reduce dead spots, something MTD does with their basses. Maybe that's what Moollon is after with the tuner weight. No idea, though.
So regarding the tuner and bridge metal composition that Moollon touts as a closer representation of the vintage process (IIRC)…you aren’t buying it?
I believe they're the most accurate representation of 59-61 tuners available. YJ puts a ton effort into making each one, and I wouldnt change them personally, but if a lighter tuner is going to make someone more comfortable, and help them to enjoy playing their Moollon that much more then the decision is a no-brainer.
I found that Hipshot Ultralites made the difference I wanted to achieve perfect balance for standing gigs on my PV. I also was unable perceive any sonic difference with the switch. It did require extra holes. Those holes were then completely covered when I replaced the originals prior to selling. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it if balance is a concern. …not an inexpensive mod though.
Love the matching headstock with charcoal frost. Similar to my light charcoal frost with the matching headstock. Not many out there made this way.
