That thing looks very well built. I was gettin my credit card out til I seen the price. I want one but I am still recovering from Christmas.

At first I thought the iGIG was heavier but I put them both on a scale. Granted it wasn't a huge difference. Maybe a pound or a little less.

If I had to decide between the two bags, it wouldn't be weight that would sway me one way or the other.

Some interesting data...

inCase Slim: 7.3 pounds
Older Portabag: 7.1 pounds
Access Stage5: 9.9 pounds *
iGig G515: 9.7 pounds

* Again, I think this is the same as the newer Portabag

Note both the Portabag and Access had the bottom pad inserted, but both shoulder straps removed. The iGig's backpack straps are integral, so they were of course there. So yeah, in short, the iGig is in fact lighter as you said.

Note also the Stage5 and G515 are the only two of the four still currently available.

that burst is so rich. I've never been a fan of white/mint pickguards, but this one gives a beautiful contrast and it also matches the white maple on the headstock. Just perfect!

Thanks amigo. I can't tell you how much I am impressed w/ that mint. Pics just can't do justice to the colour.

This is probably of more interest to you & other's interested in flats (because of your interest in the 105-50 chromes) - I found myself fighting the action ht that I initially thought would be OK(mentioned in a previous post). I lowered the action by the 1/64" that it was set high. HUGE !!! It's imperative w/ the stiffer nature of flats to find "your" home. It becomes a make or break issue!!!I can't stress that enough.
I also pre- measured the pup ht set & lowered them as well.THAT is very important to keeping the tone rich & pure. The intonation remained intact.

I played a pretty similar one to that in many ways... it was a J body and a 5, but the same woods, same finish, and of course PJ. It KILLED.

Still haven't become very familiar with my new P-Bass but managed to do 1 overdub so I could let you guys hear at least 1 clip of my the P w/flats in a mix 'til I explore the bass more.

This one's straight ahead Southern Blues/Rock to give you a feel for the flats in a kind of rock setting. I know some of you are reluctant to use 'em for that music but have a listen.
The preamp was in & set w/ bass boost@ about 60% & the treble boost @60%. As extreme as those settings are, the recorded tune suits that much boost. The VTC was full up. The Pan was set at detent (P/J)
The finger style was played over the P pup EXCEPT the whole 2nd verse which was over the J pup so you could compare tonal variation.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd - "Blue On Black" - A great strat player from Shreveport LA.

Nice tone.
There seems to be a LOT of compression going on. Especially noticeable in the verses.
You can hear that thing squash down pretty hard especially when the snare hits. Seems to choke everything a bit.
Did you compress it a lot when you played over the track?

Yeah, it's compressed pretty good because I'm coming down on the strings w/ a ton of attack. There's a BUNCH of reverb on the track & with all the boost I'm loggin' it seems liked a n appropriate fit.LOL. That snare smacks w/ a LOT of weight so I can see your point alright. Too much goin' on but the bass tone kinda smoked reason a tad I guess. ;) I'll settle down eventually bro & figure out the Very hot signal I'm not yet familiar with on this baby. I overdid the bass boost as well which didn't do me any favour I think.

The tone was cool bro.
No question there at all!

Hey, how about you rub a chicken leg on you strings/bass to deaden the strings???
Anyone have an issue with doing that?
