Club Sadowsky!!!

Still haven't become very familiar with my new P-Bass but managed to do 1 overdub so I could let you guys hear at least 1 clip of my the P w/flats in a mix 'til I explore the bass more.

This one's straight ahead Southern Blues/Rock to give you a feel for the flats in a kind of rock setting. I know some of you are reluctant to use 'em for that music but have a listen.
The preamp was in & set w/ bass boost@ about 60% & the treble boost @60%. As extreme as those settings are, the recorded tune suits that much boost. The VTC was full up. The Pan was set at detent (P/J)
The finger style was played over the P pup EXCEPT the whole 2nd verse which was over the J pup so you could compare tonal variation.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd - "Blue On Black" - A great strat player from Shreveport LA.

Awesome!! I recorded this on my JJ with Blue Nickels awhile back. I do like the flats on this song! Very nice!

I'll re-do this thing & get up a better one later tonight. Can't have all that chokin' goin' on. It's a pretty wet track to start with but a beauty.

Edit: After listening to the WAV sample rate overdub again the mp3 DOES lose some fullness in the bottom & makes the over compression even more evident. (FWIW.)

I have managed to take a pocket full of pretty good pics of the new build & wanted to post a sample. These are 85% sized but you can click the pic for enlargement. Can't seem to capture the true mint of the PG & that's a real shame 'cause it's outstanding! So is that Madagascar 2 tone - MAN!
I know how much I love to look at decent photos of y'all's Sad's so I'll get a mess of 'em up a bit at a time - over time. I got some dandies of the rosewood!

Nice pictures!!! Amazing basses! I have one just like it, but with a maple fretboard and I put on it a black pickguard...

watch it here:

(sorry for the shameless self promo) :):):)...

One more pic. And specs:

Will Lee NYC 4 Black / Vintage Tint Maple Neck
Swamp Ash Body, Chambered for Enhanced Resonance and Light-Weight, 1.45” Nut Width, 22 Nickel / Silver Frets, Custom Hipshot / Sadowsky Gears with D-tuner, Sadowsky Single-Coil Pickups, Custom Will Lee Preamp with Midrange Boost, VTC, Preamp Bypass Switch, Trim pots for Adjusting Preamp Gain and Mid-Boost, Sadowsky Chrome-Plated Brass with 20mm String Spacing, Hardshell Case.

This one came with one really nice hardshell black case with the Sadowsky log embroiderd inside the case.

I'm still a rookie w/ this preamp & it's hot signal so this is basically experimentation. The flats require more treble boost for recording than live.

This is a new file to replace the 1st one which was over compressed. Much better.(No comp)
Kenny Wayne Shepherd - "Blue On Black"
PJ controls: Pan @ detent (PJ) , VTC full up , Preamp bass boost @ 50% , treble boost @ 60%. Finger style behind P pup.
