Anything is better than Brooklyn, I went to his Jay street shop when they first opened and I parked my car on the side street with no visible "No Parking Signs" I walked out an hour later and my car was GONE!, it was towed by Bloombergs' money making gypsy towing artist, I had to pay $790 bucks to get my car back.... that really sucked that day.....
Great news! Long Island is home for me. Jay Street was kind of a pain to get to. I've got to ping him and find out where he will be.

Some of you may be wondering why we are all in the Grosh / Matchless booth.....because I just received my Grosh P/J bass for Christmas and I wanted to meet the Don Grosh team and at the same time, hook up with Vic, Roger, and meeting up with Jim was a 100% complete surprise!

Don Grosh, Me, Roger - now this is rare photo!

To be honest, I had a specific list of places to visit. I am pretty much set on my gear. I wanted to see Reeves Amps but they were not there. The only other item missing in my arsenal is a Sad 5er. Are u listening Roger? LOL!!!

So I am pretty much useless for info. :(
I think I just got all flustered after that kiss.....wait a minute, there were at least 2 - I lost count!

You mean by BLOOMBERG the tiny TYRANT, i know what you mean and i am a retired Police Officer from NYC, but i am always leery when i go to see the Basses at the shop. To be honest LIC is slightly better than Jay St in Brooklyn as they have a lot more meter parking than they do over at JAY St. At Jay St. i would always pay the 11 dollar parking fee and throw the parking attendant a 3 dollar tip, i always figured 14-15 bucks was always better than 500.00 or more bucks in towing and all. Sorry for the nightmare you had.

BTW! NEWS SCOOP!

Roger is moving his shop from Jay street! He expects to be in his new location in Long Island City March. I'm sure the web site will be updated, and he's still staying in the NYC area... not a huge move from a distance or accessibility standpoint, but still a pain of course. He's got it all worked out such that it should only impact his schedule by about a week. No big deal... for his customers, anyway... typical Roger. :)

I'm personally crushed. I wanted to walk back to Manhattan from Brooklyn Heights on my 1st trip to NYC one of these days. This is a shot from near the Jay St shop. It's one of my favourite structures. You guys gotta watch Ken Burns' doc on it sometime.

PS: I know a guy who has a great pic of him standing under this piece of History on his shop visit. :D

My wife and I did exactly that last October, it was an awesome day (and not just because I had put a deposit down on a new WL, although that helped).

I also got to visit the shop in Times Square. Guess I'll have to plan another trip at some point.

Later

The new shop is in Long Island City. 10 minutes from Rockefeller Center in Manhattan. The F train goes right to the shop. And you will still need to park in a lot. There is not much street parking anywhere in NYC. You can walk across the 59th street bridge, "feeling groovy".
