Club Sadowsky!!!

Will a Portabag fit inside that contraption?

I know the Dingwall clan loves the thing. The Levys bag that comes with a Dinger fits within it nicely.
I thought someone once mentioned only pretty basic gig bags fit in there, but I guess I'd like to hear confirmation one way or another on it.

That thought would mostly align with the pix I have seen with it split apart and a bass in it. In fact, if a portabag would fit, I guess a common gig bag would slop around in it.

I don't have any use for one, but they do look very cool. I have an ATA case that will hold a bass leaving it in it's OHSC, UL, Portabag, whatever. (I think it may actually be a keyboard or mic stand case) I just mix and match eggshell foam to keep it from moving around too much. It's grossly heavy, but considering it gets used 1-2 times a year and was free, it's perfect.

No, it doesn't. I usually use this

no space for portabag, too stiff and tickish.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I have a ProTec "Deluxe" gig bag, which is a traditional/basic style gig bag, but with pretty good padding, and would expect that to fit if I got one of these, but currently have no need for one, so I can't test it.

I have the protec too and it doesn't fit (unfortunately)

Soft bag only....but the case is amazing (and not expensive)
You're probably thinking of the Contego. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the "Deluxe" which is a plain old school style gig bag, just with pretty good padding in it (as opposed to being a thin nylon shell with a joke of a lining in it.)

I almost got a portabag in one... removed the foam padding in the small case section, but no cigar.
I use either an old Levy's leather bag or a Glenn Cronkhite bag with mine.
I really like the bass safe - only issue I've had with it is when airport security has opened it up after its been checked... the levy's bag is a snug fit and occasionally when they put the 2 case pieces back together they don't get the case closed/clasps locked correctly.

I use my Levi's leather bag in it and it stays nice a firm in there.
Can't really put anything in the pocket though except maybe a cable or strap.
It fits pretty tight at the body.
I wrapped my tuner and Compulator in a small towel and put it in down by the neck once and it was perfect.

It is a tight fit, but that's what we want.
