Forgot to ask you... when will you go through top selection? I can't wait to see what you pick out! :)

Did they say about when it might be done? My gosh that's gonna' be a f'n killer bass.

On a somewhat related note, I have the good fortune of sitting in for three gigs with a local horn band... plays everything from 60's tunes, to Chicago, Ides of March, etc. Took the MV5/24 out for a nice change from my straight up MV5. I just can't get over how strong these things are in a mix. I literally used no EQ on the bass or the amp, and it was killin'. Had all the cut, definition, and booty I needed. :)

I don't know when I'll get to see wood yet. Kevin was't in the shop on Friday, though he e-mailed me to say that they'd received my deposit. So I imagine that the process on their end is only starting sometime this week. I'm in no hurry; I'm just glad that I'm finally not just talking big about ordering someday.

Ok, so here's a few basses that have nice spalted tops in the Natural finish, most with accent lines, to kinda' whet yer appetite a bit. Sorry, just had to do this... :)

5464 was one of the ones on the list of tops I liked when Kevin and I finalised the order. He asked me to check back over the recently sold basses and let him know my faves so they could pick something out that suits.

Aside from a couple of spalties in the late 4000s (which i also mentioned to Kevin), I find that Roger's taste in wood is impeccable. I think that not loving this axe is just not gonna be an option.

Pardon me if you've talked a bunch about this in the past, but what is your current level of experience with a Sadowsky J on gigs?

I'm just trying to imagine if the one on order is just gonna be a custom version of what you're already familiar with, or if it's gonna' be more of a new experience for you. :)

I've only heard Bass12's live, and never played one out and about. I'm expecting a certain learning period, where the bass and I figure one another out. In fact, I've uh, never had a J, so... Uh, well, you know...

Uh oh!

NEW FISH!

Ok, seriously tho, this is pretty cool. Now I get to look forward to another "Sadowsky epiphany" on a gig. :)

The only bummer is, now I'm also gonna' have to suffer the wait while you get yours. :atoz: ;)

BTW, did you also listen to all the awesome clips folks have posted here and on the Sadowsky Forum? Yeah, they sound like that, too. :)

PS: I remember that one extremely well. It's beautiful. Who's is it now?
TB'er Creese. He still shows a Sadowsky 24-5 in his profile, so I figure he's still got it and still diggin' it. I sold it to him in October of 2009. To this day, that remains one of the all time best playing basses I've ever owned. Talk about buttah', it was MELTED buttah'!

Is it possible to order a Sadowsky Metro with 24 frets (not the Modern model, just a Vintage one)?
Yes. I owned one just before the NYC version of pretty much the same thing that I have now.

It's called an "MV5-24". Here's a picture of the one I had. Smokin' bass!

FYI, they have a white one and a black one on the way right now that are not yet spoken for...
