Club Sadowsky!!!

i'm still having 2nd thoughts on shifting from HC to SC. though i heard a lot of good feed backs on the SC. but anyway, here's my MS5 with a DR black beauty, badass bridge, VTC, q-parts knobs.

I had a Metro and it was definately a slightly smaller neck profile and the head stock was infact thinner then my NYC. They may have changed it I dunno. That is not the reason I sold it though, as it was an fine instrument for sure. In fact it had a lightening fast neck.

Note: My previously owned Metro, Nordy, and my current Lakland Glaub all have thinner head stocks then my NYC JJ4.

Interesting...my Metro is #189 so I assume it was one of the first to be manufactured. Considering that, you would think the Metro's have had 5/8" headstock thickness right from the start. Is the thickness difference between 4 and 5 strings?

Regarding the similarity between older NYC basses and current Metro's, I happened to try a 4 string maple board standard model from 1995 a few weeks ago. The neck profile was in fact thinner than my new MV4 and felt faster. I'm not sure about the fingerboard radius and headstock thickness. It felt very different from my Metro and sounded brighter. I opened the back cover - all looked original with an older style Sadowsky preamp. The bridge on this one was Schaller with 19mm spacing which is tighter than the new model.

I got a Metro Hybrid P a couple of weeks ago and mine is the best P I have had since my 73' P was lost in a fire a few years ago. I actually like this Hybrid better than the 2 NYC Ultra Vintage P's I had. The tone and playability is off the chain. I am playing it a lot in my current gigging situation. I actually put down my 55-94 in the middle if the second set earlier this week and picked up the P because of how the P was sitting in the mix during the first set...:D

This is my 25th Sadowsky and ranks right up there with the best ones I have owned. I can't recommend them enough!

the knobs are for aesthetic purposes, it looks better than the original black plastic knobs, IMHO.

the badass bridge, i heard a lot of good things about it. so i said to myself, maybe its worth a try. and actually it is worth it! my Sadowsky sounded better after installing it!

no looking back after that!

next is the single coil pick up!

wanna know why? maybe my Sad will sound better. you never know!

bottom line, i just want the best for my Sadowsky! its great bass and i wanna make it KILLER!
