I received my Sadowsky pre-loaded preamp in record time from the fine folks in NY, and I had it installed today in my 1997 Fender Jazz Deluxe with the stock Shur pickups. Like my 1996, it sounds wonderful and is a great mix of Fender and Sadowsky. I would, however make the following suggestions for improvement, if I may be so bold:
- Screw terminals, rather than short solder leads, for the pickup connections. This would make the bass completely user-installable.
- Lengthen the battery and output leads. Neither were long enough to fit in my deluxe, and had to be extended by my tech (at added cost for the additional bench time).
Barely time to let it warm up and check it out, but so far so good! Picked it up on ebay last week, a tad overpriced but it's a little lighter than normal and that was worth it to me, also has very little wear and the grain is quite lovely. This weekend's gigs require the MV5 so I don't even get to use it yet but very soon it's gonna get some miles put on it.
