Here is my 24/4, Ted. There is def more room to slap on a regular JJ from Sadowsky. If I had it to do again, and slap was a big part of my playing, Id order the same bass with Soapbars in the modern positions. As a matter of fact, I might just do that in a few days. LOL Time for another new bass Sadowsky!
As far at the pickup placements go, '60s positions JJ's are much more versatile, IMO. They sound better in more different types of music in my experiences with these basses. The UV basses sound good but the '60s JJ's sound good in EVERY situation. I own them all so I think my opinion is valid. I wish you luck with your order
