I have SC's in both my MV (fabulous), and just put them in my RV (not quite as fabulous with that particular bass.. that warm Alder/RW kind of liked the wide, deep and sizzle of the HC's, but I wanted to try the SC's in it).

I've been Pm'ing Vic that I MIGHT change the RV back to HC"s, but I have another few months of A/Bing, etc. before I make the final decision!

So, you are on your own!!!!

I will more than likely have a pair of HC's to sell, but just haven't decided yet.

Hey Guys. Just out of curiosity, do all the NYC P/Js have alternate routes below the P pup so we can switch configs (as in positions) or does that only apply to basses that were specifically requested to have such a routing? Just out of curiosity, cos i remember reading of such a bass on these forums, coming with a reverse P config, but upon removal of the pickguard, found that it was reversable. only needed a new pickguard. blimey~ :o

The bass has to be ordered that way...Pretty neat option to!

Posted this in the pickups section and got no replies so thought I'd go straight to the source ;-)

I have a UV70 that is a treat to play but the bridge pup cuts out often. If I lift the VTC and snap it back down a couple of times the bridge pup comes back for a while... What's up with that? Previous owner reversed the blend knob so I had my tech look into the wiring while returning the blend knob to Sadowsky specs. He cleaned up some sloppy soldering and shortened a few wires and said everything was working fine. But it's not. Could I have a broken pot? Why does the VTC / passive active switch affect the blend knob? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thx!

dang,

that sucks. FYI, of the crazy amount of sadowskies i've owned, i've never had a wiring problem. it could be a number of things, but honestly, your tech should have been able to suss out the problem. its not exactly neuroscience in there.

Sounds more like a cold solder joint somewhere. Pop the back off and move some wires around. I bet you find the problem.

Just changed the strings on my Candy Orange Sadowsky, took out the blue labels and put some rotosound 66 (I am never satisfied with strings and always try something else...) :(

Anyway, I found out that everything else the same - same bass, etc - these strings are very similar sounding!

Ditto....FWIW I like the Sadwosky Blues better because the tension is a bit better and they seem smoother to me...

+1 They really do have the more 'raw' sort of feel and tone, which I attribute to that strong upper mid response (the Rotosound grind). I still prefer the smoothness of the DR Hi Beams on the Sadowsky's, but at the moment, I'm having fun with that very aggressive, grindy tone of the Blue Labels on my MV.

I need to try the Sadowsky nickle stings.
I'm pretty content with my current strings, use the same ones on all my basses- D'Addario XL's 45-65-80-100 (130 on the 5 string).

What's the gauge on them????

I'm strickly a nickle guy.

Sadowsky Lights are 40-60-80-100-125 and Standard are 45-65-85-105-130.
