That certainly makes sense, but I'm just saying that the sheer GAS-madness that a 6 string Sadowsky inspires GREATLY outweighs the slight inconvenience of re-tooling the shop for a new model.

Of course, for the sake of my pocketbook, maybe Roger knows exactly what he's doing in NOT making this 6-string. Thanks old buddy!! Marriage intact!!! Heck, I barely survived after grabbing my PJ5 last month. Thankfully I can run faster than the wife with bass in hand. That, and the inside of my Sadowsky's case makes for a comfy outdoor bed!!

I've got an arrangement with the local mental-health clinic to come and get me in the event I'm ever stupid enough to let go of the Sadowsky, so I wouldn't hold your breath. That and I keep 3 underfed Rottweilers to guard it when I'm away. I feed em gunpowder with their infrequent meals to keep em focused.

On a side note, whenever I take my Sadowskys to rehearsal at my guitarist's home, his cat is always sniffing around my cases. It must be "Madison's" scent. He never does that with my other basses. ;)

Hey guys/girls, a quick question
I was wondering what does it mean when I see the name of one of the Sadowsky staff on the inner side of the backplate.
How does a bass constructed, is it a one person project all the way or do the staff split areas of responsibility/expertise and each one touches every bass at a certain point?

The following info was posted by Roger here in TB not long ago:
"These days, I true all of the fingerboards and final inspect and adjust every instrument that leaves the shop. I also do any necks that require custom shaping. Lisa, Robert and Mark do all the bass building. Rob does all the guitars and Jeff does all the electric nylon guitars. Julian does all of the archtops. Dave does all of the fretwork, finish sanding and sprays the necks"

I think that the name on the back plate is the main builder, even if others have been involved in the construction of that particular instrument.

And here's the man who deserves all the props. Besides being the guy behind the guy (along with the others guys and gal behind the guy), he's a very talented web guy (has designed websites and album art for me, I'm lucky to say). Oh...and if that ain't enough, he's an excellent bass player. I'd hate him if he wasn't such a good friend.

Nice job on the site update!

Not so sure about that Will Lee spec (based on the comments on the dedicated 'Sadowsky Will Lee' thread), but who knows.

I have a feeling the 5 string Metro P/J will be a big success!

Had a great gig last night dispite the snow storm dumping over 8 inches everywhere, Gotta love N.E. in the winter. :hmm:

Anyways, I was rockin' my Sadowsky Standard 5 with a new set of Black Label SS Strings, Markbass F1 and Epifani UL-410 cab.

The tone was amazing so clear and the grid I was getting was cutting through the mix as well as the snow storm! :D
