With, J's without the pickguard but still having the chrome plate look weird to me, specially if sunburst, they never look quite right, with the drill holes and the lower horn way to dark.
Yours looks great with the mint? pickguard, it would also look cool with a tort

Yeah the holes kinda bug me but I wonder what if it had black plate, bridge and tuners to match the pups and the darker colors of the bass?

I have one of each. I have a black with white PG and maple...tuxedo look. And I have a standard metro sunburst/Maple with no pickguard...reminds me of Jaco's bass.

I think I would still prefer it with pickguard but, is not a bad idea if you do all black hardware and put some small black screews to cover the holes in the black area, it might look nice. Although I think it looks awesome as it is, I wouldn't spend that much money jsut to change the color of the hardware

Id stay pickguard. I like it super clean (no control plate or screw holes) if i have no pickguard.

Both look great, probably prefer no pickguard slightly. It’ll feel different with the greater string to body gap. Decide based on what feels better.

You could always call the shop and ask them to cut you a clear plexi guard! I saw one on they had on an FB post a month or so ago. Looked really nice on a quilted top. Send them yours so they can make you an exact copy for easy install...

For me, definitely _with_ the parchment pickguard. Looks great with a tobacco burst.
