Club Sadowsky!!!

HI

Sure. Id get what you could afford. They use the same bodies, pickups, bridges, preamps, etc. There are some differences that I'm sure you are aware of if you follow this link or know Sadowsky. If those differences are worth $1200 to $1500, get the NYC. Better yet, look preowned. I feel a used NYC is one of the greatest values in bass guitars, period!!

I totally concur. Though the differences between NYC and Metro are subtle, for someone who loves a 'true rosewood' neck and digs the sound difference, IME, of the chambered bodies, you can REALLY notice after a while. That and I owned 4 Metros before snagging this NYC PJ5 and couldn't be happier.

Man.....I may have to get me a clear pick-guard....that looks pretty darn nice!!!!!

That's my first Sadowsky! Just curious, who has this bass now? I did have a clear guard that I would swap out every now and then.

I traded it to Dan for a KL C-Brase2. I still have my Buckeye Burl 5 and Spalted Maple fretless.

I played that one. WOW!!! I'm pretty sure we're gonna' get one of those (Metro PJ 5) in for an official review at some point, too. :)

As I suspected, I loved the Metro PJ 5. I kept picking those up. Also there was an NYC Vintage 24 Fret 5 that was overall my favorite at the show. Andrew Campbell fell in love with it too. It sold the first day.

Also a stunning NYC Standard with a gorgeous spalt top and birdseye maple board. Wow.

I know, no pics and they don't exist. Kevin put a bunch up, including some pics of Uncle Will and other greats. Be back in a minute.

I can't say enough about what a genuinely great cat Uncle Will is...he was just awesome at the booth. He was feeling a bit under the weather but you would never know it with how he played and entertained. He was incredibly patient with all the requests for pics...so here's a few.

Left to right...Andrew Campbell (great LA bass player and guitar player), Uncle Will, yours truly, and Kevin Drexler.

A pic of me with Will's life-size cutout. But here's the cool thing...Will took the pic himself with Kevin's iPhone per my request. I have witnesses.
