The odd thing about that satin is I tried to order one end of last year in that exact configuration in Dark Placid Blue and was told by Roger himself that they would not do that combo in a satin. Go figure.... That is a great looking bass.

Lol, you are welcome. I was waiting for someone to snatch it also. Then on the last day I told myself, if it's still available today, it was meant to be. I ended up unloading another bass for it.
Ha! I kind of gave myself the same, but it was another 2 days (IIRC) past your deadline. I was really leaning modern 5-24, which is where I ultimately landed. Kind of already been snooping for another
but I should just go ahead and grab 8802 and save myself the year wait....about a year or two from now.
Here is the answer I just got from Warwick:
Yes, the treble knob on the Sadowsky MetroExpress models is a push/pull knob for preamp bypass. If you pull the poti for preamp bypass, both the treble and the bass knob won't have any effect as the preamp will be bypassed completely.
I started with a Satin Modern 5-24. I liked it but never truly loved it, so after I got this one I decided to let the Modern go. 8802 looks like a good move, good luck.
So the Warwick Sadowsky's are using a different preamp? Sorry if I missed this somewhere else in the thread.
Only the MetroExpress made in China uses a different preamp, without VTC. All others have same preamp.

Which by the way, Sadowsky preamps seem especially prone to pickup up noise. I.E. radio stations, hum, electrical interference, etc. Any way to minimize? I've had several Sadowsky's now and they all seem prone to this.

Hmm, I had that issue with my first five string Sadowsky Jazz but not at all with my Lull M5V with Sadowsky preamp nor with my Sadowsky Modern (I don’t remember it being a problem with the two other Sadowskys I used to own either - one a four string Jazz and the other a five string jazz). Then again, I’m one who almost always has both pickups on full.

The only time I’ve noticed any noise issues with mine was using single coils in JJ configurations. The three basses I’ve got with humcancelling pickups are dead silent, even on noisy stages. And no radio stations for me.

Wow.....I have owned several Sadowsky Basses over the last 10 years and had zero issues with pickup noise on any of them. Even the 3 I own today are quiet and have no issues. I gig pretty regularly. (Well, not as of late due to our current situation) But, still played hundreds of shows with my Sadowsky’s in various venues with zero interference.
The Sadowsky preamp was designed ages ago to function well in NYC clubs, performance halls, and Broadway orchestra pits. These places never had the reputation for clean, quiet, and properly wired electrical outlets. This preamp was beta-tested and refined in these real-world battle conditions and virtually no other manufacturer can make that claim.
Over the course of decades I have yet to have any hum, buzz, or extraneous noise issue with a Sadowsky preamp. I use humbuckers exclusively as well, as hum and buzz drive me nuts.

My MIJ MetroLine RV4 (HC pickups) is as silent as a submarine in my very RF-unfriendly house (multiple dimmer switches in every room). One of my favorite things about this bass.
