Club Sadowsky!!!

and the "new" look.........

102_2650.jpg

That really looks good. The cover and screws give it a nice contrast. Gorgeous. Also, sounds like you're in for a couple of fun nights.

I sat in at a friend of mines (drummer) church this mourning, with My MS5 with SC's. And the sound man came up to me after and asked me what kind of bass it was. My friend told me after that he must have really liked my tone, because he never comments about the bass tone. That is not the first time. In fact I still can't remember playing at a new location and not having a comment on my tone. Roger still does it right.

Now the notes I play, that's a different story.:D

HI

My first thought was clear. Rob L. said thumbs down on that. LOL. The more I look at it, the more I like black. Dont want the focus to be taken away from the top. Plus, it matches all the black parts. With Tortoise, I feel I have a 3 tone thing going on. Dont want that

Thanx for the comments, people.

Birdseye fretboard? What do you think?

Rob

I think birdseye would look fine with that. More than fine, in fact! :D

And I may be crazy, but I'm thinking that a parchment guard might look good with that top and board.

Tom.

Wow Andrew, what a treat to see you and that bass in action. You know that one has always blown me away (Most amazing BEM fretboard I've ever seen). Got any sound clips???

Hi Tom, and thanks man! it was your comments and pictures of your wonderful pair of Sadowsky's that helped me get to the point of buying this bass and I couldn't be happier with it. Unfortunately no, I don't have any sound clips of it? :rollno:

All the best! Andrew.

HI

Thanx for the comments. Prolly just have a couple made. Black is still my fave but Im liking the tortoise guard more and more. Not sure about other colors

Cant do it without a pickguard. Its a specific new model and thats the way they come. Id just do another 24/4 if I wanted to go sans pickguard

Well, prolly put the order in tomorrow or Tues. A local guy has indicated he liked to buy my '03 NYC. If he craps out, Ill list it this week

Rob

Well fellas...........this may be up by the end of the week.
Thought I would at least give the Sadowsky Club boys a heads up in case I have to. (sorry mods- I may have broke a rule)
Times are a little tough and I could keep it, but having the extra cash right now would help.

I'll let ya'll know.......

Hi everyone,

I received my long awaited Metro MV4 2 days back... the tone is fantastic and the workmanship is impeccable. However during my band rehearsal yesterday, I noticed the A note(5th fret) on the E string didn't sustain as long as the other notes... it was a real bummer to me. I really noticed it while doing the slower numbers where note sustain is critical. The other notes and frets were fine, only this one. I've emailed Kevin at Sadowsky and am yet to receive a reply but I also want to check if anyone on this board has had this problem before? I'm kinda sad. :(

Any help/comments would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Try a new string, I remember having a similar problem with that same note. I changed the string and the problem was gone. I put back the old string just to make sure I wasn't hearing things and the problem was back. I've never had that problem again.
Funny thing is that that same 'problematic' string worked well on my fretless (where it lived till the end of its life :))

Oh cool that's a helpful suggestion!

man, that is a hot bass...

It plays and sounds GREAT also. We A/B'd it with my non-routed 'orange bomber', and the tone was virtually identical (it has singles in it... perfect!). There is something quite magic about these NYC non-routed ash/maple models.

I wish Mike didn't need to sell it, but it's a beauty if you are looking for an NYC vintage that has lots of balls and grind.

Yeah, well, trust me, I don't wanna, but times are tough and a little extra padding right now would be nice!
We'll see. The wife and I are trying to figure things out right now. I should know something by the end of the week-ish.

And Rob, I still have two basses with Sadowsky pre-amps in them, so I wouldn't be TOTALLY out!!! LOL
(and hell, yeah, I forgot I started this damn club LMAO!!!!)
