I would expect so... especially since I played a pretty similar spec at NAMM and was blown away. That said, I already have one custom from him, and while it doesn't offer the same versatility, it is most definitely KILLER, so it makes the wait easier.

+1 Yes, I definitely understand the magnitude of the changes they are dealing with, and I do have a couple of basses to play in the meantime, so I can (or at least should!) be patient.

I've never owned a PRS, but I've seen quite a few and they seemed to have oversized strap buttons and oversized screws like my Benaventes and Nordstrand.

PRS strap buttons = Fender bass string trees

I purchased the 4 Knob unit for an RSD that I am upgrading. I got it working ok but I had a few issues I sent a couple of messages to the Indiana shop that I got it from and it was crickets. I figured out the issues but it would be nice to at least have some kind of follow-up. I believe that the pre amp they are selling is out of Germany and not at the quality of the pre amps in my two Japanese Metros. I installed an Audere Pre amp in another RSD that I have and I would recommend the Audere over the current Sadowsky pre amp. I am not saying the Sadowsky pre amp is lacking tone wise it just doesn't seem to be at the quality level that the Audere is at. The other issue is the nasty hum is still there with the Sadowsky but the Audere is completely quiet.

Some “Modern Love” at this morning’s services. First live outing with the 5-24 after putting Blue Label flats on it. Holy Schmoly, what great finger style tone...wish I had done it sooner! I broke in the church’s new bass amp also, it’s a used BA115HP that worked pretty well and enabled me to take back possession of the B100R I was loaning them. All in all, it was a pretty decent Sunday morning.

I had the blue label flats on one of my Moderns for a while. Such a killer tone. Highly recommended.

I wonder if the Sadowsky preamps coming from Germany are the same as the ones directly from the NYC Sadowsky shop? I have a German Metro and it seems to have a hum that stops whenever i touch any metal parts on the bass. I'm going to take the bass to my tech for extra shielding or figure out what's going on.

The hum thing is a tough call. I have some single coils that don't hum and some hum less pickups that hum. You typically will get some hum with single coil pickups. The only time that it bothers me is when I avoid settings on the bass because the hum is just to annoying.

Thanks for the heads up, I see some difference on the Warwick pre and the “old” Sadowsky pre in a couple of pictures. I wonder if it is actually different, maybe someone from the shop can chime in

My NYC pre certainly looks different from my German metro pre. I had hum/buzz on my german metro PJ. I had to shield the P scratchplate around the knobs and also the J pickup cavity. I also had to route the J pickup wire away from the preamp location, that seems to have fixed the hum when not touching the strings. NYC preamp attached to the pots, German pre sits in the cavity.

My last of the Japan metroline Will Lee is totally noise free on all settings and even with just one of the (single coil) pickups selected. Judging by these comments certainly makes me wonder whether the Warwick pre is different. It makes sense that they may be using another source.

FWIW, I just got off the phone with Ben at Corner Music to correct the mistakes in their MetroExpress and MetroLine descriptions.

Hi Roger. I love my Will Lee made in Germany. The pickups are made by Mec ( Warwick) in Germany or it's your own model made in USA Duncan like ? Thanks
