Club Sadowsky!!!

I've been on the fence. I'd like to add a modern back to the stable but, 1.) I'm incredibly satisfied with my WL-5, and 2.) I really, really, really prefer a 1.75" nut width for a five string.

Now that they've hit the shops, I've talked myself out of one for the reasons stated, but then I get on here and it doesn't help the temptation.

So my German Metroline 2021 LTD arrived today! I've only had a few minutes with it but wow, killer bass. Beautiful woods and excellent playability. The adjust-a-nut is cool. Look at the flaming on the neck! Almost has a Warwick type vibe due to the finish.

I've had more time with this one and it just might be my favorite Sadowsky yet. I've had a few NYC and a couple Metrolines and a Japanese Metro Express and I think this one takes the cake. These are really great basses.

That’s pretty high praise. Good to hear teething issues are being resolved. Is yours chambered? Or will that only be featured in Masterbuilts?

Thanks. 8lbs is great.

I’m finding the Warwick website to be very difficult to navigate. I can’t even find an LTD model on it. The product photos aren’t great, and the wights listed for Masterbuilts are all 4.5kg/9.9lbs.

Is there a better website to view the line?

Coudn't have said it better, myself. I've been very happy with a Metro WL5, but almost pulled the trigger last week on an early '90s Modern 5, ultimately hesitating due to the nut width.

Amazing looking bass, enjoy it. Roasted neck?

Ok, so the portabag that comes with the German Metrolines is terrible. Not anywhere near the quality of the bags that come with the NYC. I will not be carrying my Sadowsky in this bag out of the house as I don’t think it provides adequate protection from a drop. The bag is flimsy and the bass easily moves around inside. Will rely on my Mono Vertigo for any real transportation.

This is too bad. I really hope Sadowsky finds a new case.
