On the subject of the whale blue 2020 LTD's, yesterday I was conversing with Jason at FretNation about them. Well.... he referred me to this gorgeous masterbuilt edition he had in stock. Oh man... stunning. Jason made me a deal I couldn't refuse and so.... well, I did a thing. To my surprise he had it packed up and ready to go this morning already so I guess I'll soon be answering my own question about how the JJ LTD's play and feel.

This sounds like an AC power ground loop to me, which is an issue with the house wiring. I have two passive basses that do not like the AC power in my practice space but are dead silent when in other buildings. Like your situation, the hum varies from day to day. Unplugging iPhone chargers and other devices may help but may not eliminate it. Does touching the strings or bridge reduce the hum? My Sadowsky instruments have never been affected by it, however.
Yep to everything you mentioned here, and I have wondered about the iPhone chargers and such. Touching the strings definitely reduces it in other cases when that happens with some of the Scarlett Focusrite settings / Garageband emulators.
It is curious how different instruments are affected. Neither of the other two Sadowsky have this. The two (passive) Fender Jazz behave like you'd expect. Curiously, someone else mentioned on talkbass about some pedal purchased to reduce the hum of a single coil jazz and their Rickenbacker 4003s/5. I have two of those and thought at the time how peculiar the comment was as those (and the 4003W I sold for this Metroline) are also really quiet for me (Garageband fuzz emulators aside).
Think a Furman powerstrip that @kev451 mentioned worth a shot?
I do really believe my GK -> Focusrite -> iMac -> Focusrite -> Rumble 25 does not help things (and exacerbates it), but is finally set up for recording well enough.
I have been using this one for 3 years, and now torn its holder(?) both on one side... Not seems so durable...

Here was my situation yesterday morning.All went as well as I could ever have hoped.

My "gig" is Church, and that's what I bought this bass with the intent for. Basically run the GK MB115 as a "pre" as well as a monitor for the sound system, currently. However, something very interesting happened to me yesterday.
I get to our rehearsal room, plug in, and no hum at all. This bass is dead silent, as it should be. ("He says, as he scratches his head, baffled.") We use a Rumble 25 in the rehearsal room. When I plugged into the GK, same thing.
Rumble 25 and GK MB115 are my identical home set-up, albeit I have the updated GK. (?!?) Seems like this bass doesn't have a pre-amp issue. I must have some sort of interference issue at home, which I already knew. My printer can make my home set-up buzz too. What remains weird though is that my Satin M5-24 doesn't buzz at home. Also weird: sometimes the hum on this new one isn't bad at all which made me wonder if I was going crazy imagining things. So...I have no idea. But it all sounded killer yesterday!
Do you like the sound from the lifted cabinet? I tried that few years ago, but it seems to be much less lows what I got from it, than mounting cab on the floor. And the placing close to the wall (if there it is) is effective too.
This is very true, but I've found it to be a double-edged sword, as that low end coupling seems to be greatly affected by where you stand, due to resonance characteristics of the reflections, and maybe even some comb filtering or other phase affects. With a lifted cabinet, you don't get those free lows, but the lows you do have, seem a lot less position dependent.
That said, most of the stages I play don't really allow me to go speaker stand style, so it's a fact of life for me. Just commenting food for thought.

Caveat: Wasn't my set-up or equipment and this pre-dates me...but my other reference (there) is a "kickback" style monitor on the floor. I far prefer this as I can control my own volume and I stand ~6-8' in front of it.
At home, I use the amp on the floor, but I sit so both references are similar.
Curiously, and specific to this bass almost the opposite: but my lows were absolutely booming on Sunday. Anything on the B string was crystal clear and equally felt as heard. Sounded great, but it was almost disproportionately strong and I was messing with lowering the boost when I typically run both pretty flat and around 1/3 on.
A great day at Sadowsky Guitars today.
Scheduled an appointment with Roger to have a factory reset on this recently acquired UV Jazz Bass. (It was in excellent condition when I received it from seller but I wanted it reset since I will be using it throughout the upcoming season.)
Always great to see Roger and watch him work his magic. Several masterpieces were in the shop at different stages of completion..
Roger toured me through the shop - just a great place.
Added bonus was seeing his wonderful wife Robin.

Fantastic! So great that you got to experience the Sadowsky magic (x2!) first hand. My trip to the shop in 2019 was magical as well. Kudos!

OK. Here's some pics. The neck is noticeably flatter/thinner top to bottom than my 2021 Modern. This one weighs 8 lbs too.

That's a beautiful bass, wow, that neck!! Quilted maple pops on stage like nothing else.
If it sounds as good as it looks it should really be something!
I was at Fret Nation about 2 weeks ago and held that bass. Beyond beautiful.

Beautiful acquisition! How do you like its tone and how does its voicing compare to the Metroline 2021 LTD you recently got?
