The drop in preamp has better quality pots. They are solid shaft rather than the splined shaft chinese pots in the Metro Express. Also, easier to install if you're not experienced in this sort of thing.

Whats the reason for choosing the Portabag for your Sadowsky?
Better fit? Better protection?

My NYC Satin came with the Portabag so I just keep it with it. No real other reasons.

I got another compliment from a soundguy last weekend on my bass tone. He said took all the EQ off my channel and just set my level for the room. I just play through a Fractal floor unit and that's all. I don't even us any of the amp/cabinet modeling, and no EQ, just a few virtual effects boxes for specific songs. Sadowsky, baby!

Sorry for the late reply, didn't caught your question so far.. Thank you for the interest, and kind words. Every part was composed and arranged by Peter Szendofi. Horn section modified slightly by the leader of the band, Kornel Fekete-Kovacs.
His Big Band album haven't released yet, I eagerly await for it also , unfortunately he hadn't got enough time to finish the mixing (he always mixes own materials), but this year it will come out hope so.

And I have a few questions to you guys:
The balance pot operates in the opposite direction (to what I'm used to); turning it counter-clockwise selects the neck PU - should I re-solder the 2 red cables at the pot ??

My second question is on the frets, they are all slightly out of the fretboard (wood shringage?), should they be leveled by my local luthier ??

To get a lower action on the G-string, any of you using a shim ??
