Club Sadowsky!!!

RE the Blend pot - I just loosen the set screw and turn the knob so the line on the top points down toward the bottom bout of the bass. In that orientation, when you turn the knob and move the line toward the front of the bass, you are favoring the neck, when you turn it to the rear, you are favoring the neck. Simple to do and intuitive, at least for me!

Quick little clip of my Sadowsky (the orange bomber) through a couple of heads and the AE410 on my YouTube channel (link below in my sig). I have a bunch of Alleva-Coppolo clips up also if anyone would find comparing the instruments interesting. All wonderful instruments.

My particular Sadowsky spec really likes that TC RH450!

I continue to absolutely LOVE this bass... thanks Roger and team!

Thanks guys:). It's fun to find an instrument that really speaks to you. I just love this bass (and my A-C LM also). The Sadowsky singles really do it for me, as does that somewhat unique ash/maple with 60's pickup position spec (snap, grind and a bit of growl to my ears), and the bass is a nice match with that RH450 and Berg AE410 (which is my primary gigging rig with this particular bass).

I've found that the best way to post photos has been by loading them on a free hosting site. I like Photobucket about the best. Then you just use the little postcard looking thing just above to place the photo link from Photobucket. Just look at my photos on the prior page.

Now if I were a better photographer.:help:

Ok, first of all......all the reviews that you've read on here about the Single Coil pups are TRUE!!! They are the most wonderful pickup and just tear through the mix with authority!

I installed these in my Standard 5 (Ash/Maple) and played thru my Markbass F1/Epifani UL2-410 rig. The F1 was set flat with the VPF around the 9:00 position. Man of man was the tone absolutely killer. The mid focus is just cutting while the low end fattens it all up. Boosting the treble on the bass gives you all the sparkle you need up top. With the bass set at full blend and no boosting of the bass or treble the tone is just stunning. That mid focus is perfect for finger style playing. The bass seems to be more clearer as well. I could not hear any 60 cycle hum from these pickups at all. These pickups are a tad louder than the HC pups too. I needed to adjust the input volume on my F1 because they were clipping a bit.

The venue was a large 5000 people capacity function hall. 2 stages with large PA, Lights, etc. There were over 40 bands playing. We went on around 4:45. Close to 500 people were there at that time. I had the volume up around the 11:00 position on the F1 and it sounded awesome.

Overall, I consider the Single Coil pups an upgrade to the already wonderful HC pups found standard in the Sadowskys.
YRMV....but I doubt it.

This particular gig was metal. I sit in with this Link Removed for shows when their regular bass player cant do the gig. I have been getting the call alot though recently???? Hmmmm, could it be the Sadowsky???
