Are you guys actually playing those Sadowskys tonight?
I should be a member of this @%$* club just for wanting one so bad. I guess you wont even let me put a club # on hold will ya. Well if any of you feel sorry for me and own a NYC Vintage J5 Ash/Maple with a burst finish and 60's PUP spacing you could sell it to me. It would probably make you feel better as a person. You know, helping your fellow man.

I woke up and realized I had a dream that I finally found the Sadowsky that I have been searching for. You guys should really be ashamed.

The leads on the HC pups are green, red & grey. What is what (+ vs -)? The singles are one white & 2 black, so that's pretty intuitive, but the HC's on the other hand?

Speaking of tort guards, this one arrived yesterday, soooo a facelift for an old warrior. Here's the morph...

I like the tort guard upgrade. Looks good! I did the same thing to my Lakland Joe Osborn 5 when I had it. Went from white to tort. BUT..... the tortoiseshell that Jeannie Pickguards (the official aftermarket pickguard supplier for Lakland) has is a brown tortoiseshell. In fact, it looked identical to the brown tortoiseshell pickguard that came on my Metro RV5PJ.
The Metro is such a nice-looking bass, I'd like to get a better looking tort guard for it. The brown tortoiseshell is kinda boring to me. It's very dark and is monochromatic, just various shades of yellowy gold to dark brown. It doesn't look nice until it's in the sunshine and the light picks up the lighter parts.
I'd like to pick up a red/brown tort guard, one with nice red to brown and cream highlights. Yours is kinda like what I'm looking for. Is it a Sadowsky pickguard, or did you get it somewhere else.
I'm looking for a really nice quality red/brown pickguard with W/B/W layers.
I guess Sadowsky thinks Red/brown tort only looks good with a 3TS finish, but I think it looks great on a '59 burst like I have too.
Or alternatively, who makes a dynamite custom tort guard?

I wish the tort guards on both my RV5-JJ and RV5-PJ were "livelier"
They're kinda dark, without many highlights in them.
It's really the only thing I can criticize on them...

Agree, I'm pretty happy with everything else on the bass. The overall finish on the Metro is just so superlative, I'd really like to top it off with a high-quality tort pickguard with some character to it. I think a great red/brown tort would give it a really traditional look with more personality, like a nice old P-bass.
I know they sell Metro pickguards at Sadowsky but does anyone know if you can get a different one for NYCs?
