Hey Lizzy,

Yeah I just spotted these the other day and wondered if Trans Red was available OR will be available.

It's been quite over there by the B.Bridge. I bet Roger has something up his sleeve soon.

We used to do Transparent Red and Blue. We dropped both colors 2-3 years ago as they were not popular enough.

Nothing up our sleeves....for this stocking stuffer month, we have been adding instruments to the stock page as we finish them, rather than save them up for a big stock update.

Vic and Chef it would be great if you guys could come out to the GTG in New England (late March or April) we are still working out the dates check some of the unholy modifications.

Man, I'd love to do that. Slim chance for me due to the time/travel requirements, but I'm positive it'd be fun and educational for me.

That thing in the "tin box" was my SA200. I sold it to fund the PA for my present band. Bummer.

A separate thread about all my basses? LOL. It might actually last a few pages. Cripula has 2. The Blue pj4 and the white jj5. Eaglemoon has my WL4. I have two metros presently. Ive lost count but I remember it being somewhere in the neighborhood of 27 or 28. I have some pics Ive kept and will try to post as I find them. Ive sold others on this forum but I dont think some of the new owners post in the this thread. Examples would be a NYC fretless 4, UV metro 4, NYC 5JJ, NYC 4JJ, etc. Ive had 6 or 7 metros. 2 UV's, NAMM #2, MS4. NYC's include 2 modern 5's, 2 pj4's, many jj4's, 24jj5(Cripula), Will Lee 4, 24/4jj, etc. Every year I try to remember them all. Fun to think back and recall all of them. Fantastic instruments. Im just fickle and like to shake it up and Roger always tempts me with new models

I still think we need a Separate "Sadowskys previously owned by Bikeplate club", and if we threw in a club for "basses previously owned by Mikebass" along with it, we could justify setting up a separate forum.

LOL. I swear to all of you I'm sane!! Its been fun owning all of them. Ive estimated doing about 1500 shows with a Sadowsky bass over my shoulder. The tone always kills!!

Bought this Vintage JJ 5 (3044) in April '99. Solid Body, SC's ash/maple orig mint pg. This bass just went over 600 shows. (Shared time w/ a 24 fret 5 str. (3992) which i recently sold) and an old '65P that i sold for the PJ 5. Alder/BrzRwd. I LOVE Sadowsky basses !!!!

We find the Paulownia to sound closest to alder.

Paulownia is known in Japanese as kiri (&#26704, specifically referring to P. tomentosa; it is also known as the "princess tree". It was once customary to plant a Paulownia tree when a baby girl was born, and then to make it into a Sadowsky Modern 5 as a wedding present when she gets married. Paulownia is the mon of the office of prime minister and also serves as the emblem of the cabinet and the government (vis-à-vis the chrysanthemum being the Imperial Seal of Japan).

So, with a history like this....yeah, I wonder why its still hanging around too!

If it is, it's not due to the tonal characteristics, but instead, just a lack of familiarity maybe making folks a little less comfy with it. Thing is, IF that's true, Roger's eval period should make that a complete non-issue.
