Oh, we listen.....but when the message is "I'm the angry new model of you, I'm more attractive and better at sports!!! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!" You kinda start to loose credibility.

I may be the exception, but my views on ALL major issues changed from 18 to 25/27, including the death penalty. I do not expect them to stay static for the next 10. I think it's a good idea to accept that "convictions" ebb and flow with time. What you are sure of now, you may not be sure of in 2 years. That I'm sure of. You'll have to excuse me while I curl myself into a corner and cry because I'm no longer susceptible to venereal disease and because morf is better at sports than I am. He probably dresses better, too. If I could only grow up and realize these aren't benchmarks for a person's worth.....

MY biggest problem is the seeming inability of like 75% of the American work force to do even the simplest of tasks correctly and/or without a big, fat, freakin' 'TUDE!!! AND, if you make the sandwich wrong twice, don't expect the customer to still be smiling you brow-ridged, knuckle-dragging, reached-the-pinnacle-of-their-career-ladder, MORON!

This applies to big ticket items, too. Every one of you who has ever had something made/delivered wrong knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about. (bigfatbass casually glances in the direction of a certain Dr. ...)

Oh, I'm not sure if you're the exception or not, but I don't mean to imply that my views (or any young person's) will never change in regards to major issues. I just think that a young person should not be looked down upon due to his age when discussing an issue where age does not play a major role. If it's a discussion about how to run a household, any geezer with experience can write off some punk as not knowing what he's talking about, and for good reason, since said punk probably doesn't know what he's talking about. It's when people just write off valid opinions as youthful idealism, that's when it bugs me. Actually, it also bugs me when I see people accept youthful idealism as a valid opinion. I see this far too often.

Don't forget you oldies, there are immature people of all ages. Your age bracket ain't so squeaky clean either. ;)

At least my daughter got admitted to a special kindergarten for autism starting this fall. She has made some progress -- she now sometimes says "I want _______" instead of just grabbing it. :)

I feel for the parents who haven't been out to dinner by themselves. As if the autism weren't enough, my daughter also has epilepsy, and sometimes stops breathing during her seizures and has to be rushed to the Pediatric ICU. Trying to find a babysitter for her is like trying to find a pre-CBS Fender in excellent condition for under $2K. :p I can't remember the last time I ate a meal with my wife at someplace with cloth napkins and no plastic toys that come with the meal.

I am glad you think the program is effective,
special needs teaching is very difficult.

You can try what Peter's parents did, find a
teacher familiar with your daughter and needs a little
moonlight cash. It isn't a babysitter, it's pro help.
Expensive, but worth it for just a little break alone
together. (Or you could pick up take out and head
to a motel :eek: :smug: )

Like UPS, who left my Dingwall on the front steps of my apartment...and had the neighbors across the street sign for it (Who I'd never met?). Theoretically they filled the 'signature required' clause....
